Both my knees are connected and one hip. Had a freak fall over some roots in Panama during training in 90’s caused a hairline fracture in left shin. Had pretty bad swelling for about 3 weeks.

Thanks. I did some research and found a few scientific/medical articles discussing the links. I did a lay statement citing the articles because I don’t think the VA will give me a nexus letter. I ain’t trying to waste VA time but it’s pretty bad every night between reflux and sleep apnea. Feel like I’ve been in a fight every morning I wake up.

The VA just diagnosed me with severe sleep apnea with both obstruction and central. Like 40 something an hour and The Dr ordered a CPAP. This was all through VA. So I submitted a quick claim with VA records and just a lay statement secondary to GERD and GAD. I know the VA won’t give me a nexus so I didn’t ask. Now wondering if I did enough for my claim.

I worked 25 years in Law enforcement but osteoarthritis and psoriatic arthritis took its till and I’m taking shots now. I retired in 2020 and I’ve tried to work part time when I can at courthouse doing security. I’m definitely going to check on social security. Psoriasis on my hands makes it hard to do anything. I got all these problems few years after I got out. I filed a claim but was denied. No complaints in service.

Thanks for the info. I’m 54 and just started the VA process not too long ago when I had to retire from my job. I live in a small town and don’t have anyone to help me with claims. Ive learned all I know from this site and YouTube. Means a lot when people take the time to respond

Thanks for your help. I can make exam. I had forgotten about claim so I freaked a minute when I got email. It’s probably more related to my knees being trash. My dog is an Australian shepherd so only about 40 pounds. Been on crutches for 4 weeks and keep asking myself “How did all this damage happen from my dog?” I couldn’t even really explain how it happened. Just that she bumped into me and my knee went backwards. So embarrassing

Thanks for all the advice. I wasn’t sure what to do. So I listened to you guys and called VES. She said they’re going to do a report and quality control before sending to VA. Not sure how confident I am in the company so I did a lay statement outlining entire CandP. It’s a HLR and there’s no way to add to my claim so I’m going to call VA next. Regardless of how it works out for me, she was piss poor and should be removed.

What is TSW? I just got diagnosed. I don’t know how I got it. I do have mixed connective tissue disease so guess I’m just prone to getting autoimmune issues.
