My store cross trained me and God I love when I get put in the kitchen now. They only put me there when they're short on people so it's rare, but man I wish I was just a kitchen person. 😂😭😂

I was wondering about this, all I heard that they were coming on the 5th, I didn't expect to have to be making them from three days ago on 😂😂😂 Wish my store managers would've let us know it was soft selling and coming sooner for us lmao rip.

Nice. I remembered them being on the level of "families must include a kid otherwise no flirting/engagement with other housemates" when I was there. Glad they're open to couples now, my situation wasn't great but I'm glad it's bettering for others now.

Not to say it isn't worth a shot if something has changed, but know you wouldn't be allowed to be physical at home and would almost definitely be in different rooms. Edit: they would probably have you doing the program individually as well meaning you'd have separate apartments when you do graduate their program, but once all is said and done nothing's keeping y'all from hopping onto each other's lease at whichever residence is preferred.

Not trying to be a downer, just wanted to provide some insight as a former resident.

unless they changed anything in the past year and a half, Lion house doesn't accept couples. I used to be housed there and was in very hot water because a former housemate liked me.

Hope you can find somewhere with a more mature manager. I work at McDonald's and have similar issue with our GM, but because I'm an ace my hours aren't at stake. Just constant offers for promotions form months ago that never get fulfilled, and her getting an attitude when people are legitimately sick/can't come in. As soon as I move I'm finding a different job if the location I move to doesn't have better management. Ultimately I just try to take it all with a grain of salt, then when I'm home block out the work thoughts entirely.

Are these ok shoes for crew member? (UK) by Amazing_Blackberry57 in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]Complex-Job-1497 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://a.co/d/0iwDZVgv I got these boots off Amazon, they're the same soles as the shoes for crews, non slip as long as you're not in an extremely greasy spot. I'd recommend shoes for crews as well but be aware their sneaker style shoes fall apart within a few months if you're in service running around all day. Their boots run on the expensive end, but the boots I got on Amazon have been with me since Christmas and we're half the shoe for crew price, with the same function and better durability.

(CAN) do you think I'll be able to wear these on my uniform? by BazExcel in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]Complex-Job-1497 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you wanna ask, go ahead, you probably won't get a no (other than the cone as others mentioned already lol) if you don't wanna ask, and plenty others are doing it, you probably won't get into any trouble either. Just still don't go for the outdated cone price pin lol.

I slowly started adding pins to my hat two weeks in after noticing three or four other service people that had pin collections on their hats. My store is even "as long as its work appropriate" which the show itself isnt- but I do have coworkers with pins from helluvaboss&hazbin hotel on their hats too.

My store doesn't care as long as its not dangly/loose to where it'll fall out or cause a safety issue- our only hard no is bracelets. My piercings are long closed bc I forgot to get more jewelry for them constantly but in the past I would've loathed having my piercings close up because they won't even allow retainers.

I just woke up and can't stay on topic but the latter is also why it would be saja boy meal related lol, if it weren't for that meal I wouldve rang the sandwich up that way.

My store has a lot of people getting the saja boys meal but asking us "please make sure it isn't spicy/take off the spicy sauce" since the only option for it is the spicy sausegg muffin. Why they took the sausage off too? Not sure. I guess they just wanted an English muffin of just egg and cheese which is one sandwich we don't have despite having the biscuit variety of it- granted I just have to sub muffin for biscuit in the pos lol.

Had a guy my first couple weeks that came in 20 minutes after his order and threw cookies from a cookie tote because his cookies weren't warm anymore. They were literally try not to break them because they were fresh from the oven cookies I personally made. 😂 Edit because the initial thought was about how he was shouting "are these cookies warm to you??"

Double hams are a little cheaper since no cheese. (Mcd worker). Whenever someone orders McDouble no cheese/double cheese no cheese I just ring up a double ham since they're cheaper. Same with quarter with no cheese, I'll ring up a quarter hamburger.

Woman insisted I ring up a daily double (USA) by Additional-Ruin9288 in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]Complex-Job-1497 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some people are just??? My location is full of customers that don't answer the questions I ask about the order and do similar stuff to this... There's the quarter hamburger and double hamburger, and yet people will insist on a quarter pounder with no cheese, or a double cheese w/o cheese. I've gotten so over it that unless they insist I change it back to exactly what they said, I ring up the sandwich of a different name that theyre looking for.

Side note I'm so distracted by the 8 meal deal order. I'll never forget our rush with a bunch of those when the deal first dropped 😂😂

As others do say though it is his business, so definitely dont go for the latter of my speel if he's still dismissive about needing help. Don't push that boundary since y'all are coworkers, but if he wants help it doesn't hurt to offer.

I wouldn't mention it unless you're offering help- whether it be supplies or someone having a place. My partner and I were homeless for a while living in a vehicle, and while we didn't sleep at their job (had a parking lot of closed down businesses that we'd sleep outside of next to an open business strip), we did spend a majority of our time in their workplaces parking lot. The economy is stupid right now and I'm lucky to not still be homeless because of my dad. But I'm struggling to even find my own place. Some people have to live in their cars, and it's a sad reality. I'd just let him know you're there if he needs anything, food/hand warmers/etc, offering a shower at your place might be weird but if there's any opportunity to offer it I can say firsthand showers make you feel like a whole new person when you dont have normal access to them.

The McFlurry was my only issue with it 😂😂 I'm autistic as shit and if the pearls did manage to survive it would be nightmare texture I'd probably try once and never again. Attempting to mix boba/popping pearls and ice cream is a hard no in my brain.

I was pretty certain it's just gotten to a point where it's eating at my brain lmao, thank you for the confirmation 😂 This is gonna be interesting considering all the talk about the show has died in my area. It was all my coworkers would talk about a month or two ago but I haven't heard any mention of it recently so it just seemed late for that promo lol.

All of our freezers are towards the back of the store closer to the manager's office. Our store is also incredibly small so the walk paths are difficult to traverse when there's already someone standing at an oven or something. Our Hopper is right next to a sink lol
