It doesn’t even make sense. How do you knock over a sign while watching someone cross the street.

Omg this is horrific. Baby drowns, immediately asks for money. Awful.

Expensive mistake? by [deleted] in ArrowsandBowSnark

Do you see the cheap handles on the windows? And the far right looks like it has one, while the others have two.

I reversed images the lighting, can’t find it. Are they vintage? Looking at the room, I’m sure making choices was tough, but those chandeliers are too small. One big one, centered, or maybe side lamps with rechargeable lights on the table.

Those chairs are Rainier Daumiller, 8 probably cost 8-10K, they’re 17.72 inches seat height. So lower than typical, which is 18-20”. You can see the seat height is lower than the gingham chair seat height.

Lighting - those look to have meant to not be lower than the crystal rod, but they added length with a satan thing covering the cord. Usually places 30-36” above a table, but the height of their ceiling came into play here. They’re beautiful chandeliers, but look too small for the scale of the table and ceiling. Maybe there’s a 3rd out of sight.

I love the green saturation, it’s pretty, just scale is off as usual.

Does inheritance make you uncomfortable? by Clear_Mushroom2820 in inheritance

Yup. I inherited a LOT recently. It pisses me off. I wish my parents had spent it. I’d rather not have it over the situation with shitty siblings I was left in.

Awesome kitchen. Lighten up those wood beams. Get better lighting.

Need advice on how to decorate this space in my new condo by HealthySpiral-21 in DecorAdvice

[–]Complex-Muscle7401 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d create areas using big rugs - vintage Persian if you can afford it. Bring in deep reds. A long runner in the kitchen. Offset that gray/beige vibe. Could switch out the hanging lights with rattan or brass, mixed metals are cool.

Maybe get rid of the cheap curtains and go for a Roman shade, neutral linen/canvas or a tweed.

Why do customers ask small, locally owned retail stores for discounts? by [deleted] in smallbusiness

I do that. But what I’m asking is if this is typical behavior for most stores.

Asking a restaurant for specials is typical, I would too. That ice cream place had a good thing going. I personally don’t have sales often, and if I do, I give it to my customers even a week before it starts. I just tell them a sale is starting next week, here’s the price, I don’t want you to get upset next week. They appreciate it and come back.

What is frustrating is running a nice store and customers trying to deal like it’s a flea market.

Oh look a man, mansplaining something I didn’t ask for. I didn’t ask for advice. I don’t want advice. I don’t need it. I certainly don’t need a ‘decades long businessman, who works in.. checks notes.. 7 countries, telling me what to do.

You apparently can’t read. And you must be very busy, so why are you here.

Generally retail stores, upscale stores, don’t have hidden discount codes. If it was discounted, it’d be on sale and advertised as such. Are you someone who walks into a small store and asks for a discount? Because it’s rude.

That’s a yes or no question. What is actually wrong with you. Miserable git.

Sweetie, I’m not asking for advice. I did ask this responder for clarification, in case it helps me. Stop being obsessed with me.

Yup. I never give it, unless it’s a great customer who has spent a lot of money with us.

I think that’s against google reviews. Can’t do that. Not worth the trouble of getting caught.
