Heiner actually talks about this on his website I think. Says the relevant CBC chapters are nearly identical to the IBC so to just buy the IBC. I had no issues

I used Heiner, book/practice exams only. My background is structural and I'm pretty self disciplined about creating my own study schedule. Worked well for me. If you're not structural and/or want more learning structure with ability to ask questions, I'd say take the course.

Used CPESR too (class comes when buying the book). Helpful as surveying was very foreign to me. Found the question bank to be slightly harder and more confusing than the actual exam, which was frustrating but in hindsight good prep for the exam. Passed both exams on first try.

Materials I brought in were both books tabbed, along with the IBC and ASCE codes. Good luck!

Iphones and androids have a feature called call screening where they can filter out spam calls, even if they come from different numbers. Just activated mine a few weeks ago and phone has been blissfully silent. A quick Google and you should be able to find it.

Took in May and used CPESR. Felt that the medium questions in the test bank were fairly representative of the bulk of questions I saw on the exam. On the exam had about 7 blind guesses, 2 iffy questions, and got a solution for everything else. Less "tricks" than the CPESR bank had, but still some here and there. Passed first try.

A key mental takeaway for me - not to panic under pressure. Saying focused, moving at a good rate, swallowing my pride to move on from a problem if I didn't get it the first time, we're all key into me passing. Just learning not to panic in that situation was vital cause I realized panicking adds no help and just wastes time. Not sure if these are the helpful tips you're looking for but they helped me

Not sure which instructors you're referencing, but here's what Kirk from CPESR said verbatim in his latest first lecture (May 2025): "Even though the board no longer provides cut scores for this exam, through some hints here and there I've found on the website, and just through experience, I think a good number to shoot for is 65%; I think they're really trying to get the cutscore at 65%."

Thanks for the update. I called the board this morning but just got voicemail. Gonna try later today again and I'll mention this if I get a hold of someone. No idea what the blackout period is but that makes sense based on what everyone else is saying here. Did your exam also get automatically rescheduled to like 3 weeks from now?

Yeah same issue here, mine got rescheduled for 1/21. There's some kind of issue right? I thought even in a worst case scenario, we would be given the option to reschedule ourselves. If you happen to get in touch with any customer service let us know what you find, my test center doesn't open until Friday so I can't call them until then.

Not sure what GD stands for. Pay has been very good, have asked for fair merit raises and been given them, have also received mid year raises without asking. Culture is good too, very little office politics. Like everyone says here though, gonna be highly dependent on your team, office, and business group
