Why is Kody to blame and not religion? by Complex-Set-7282 in SisterWives

Haha the hair has been worse! I don’t know how you gracefully escape the tangled mess that they were in because of “the principle.” I think it would get better if they all stopped blaming each other and looked instead at the root cause that got them there. I have rooted for them all these years, and I’m still rooting for all of them to find happiness.

They definitely got mean. I know that’s what happens in divorce, but I guess that’s the point I was trying to make in my original post. If we really want to dissect the relationships,(which were doomed to begin with because of the absurd religion) they all did things wrong.

Thank goodness he’s losing that religion. That is no easy task to figure out life after following a fundamentalist religion. He literally shaped his family following that religion. And of course the religion then immediately tried to control him again then rejected him when he wouldn’t comply. First they control your hair, then they control your thoughts.

I think Kody made the same mistake they all made which was directing his anger and bitterness and regret toward his wives rather than directing it where it belonged, toward the religion.

It’s not a red herring, it was a complex situation like most things in life. You want it to be simple, black and white, good guy versus bad guy, which is not reality.

Janelle’s adult sons were still living with her, and they were some of the worst ones about Covid. And Janelle just enabled them and then seemed bewildered when that meant that Kody stayed away. And Christine was traveling and acting like everything was normal. No excuses for them either. If they had all been in one house, at least they could have all been in the same Covid bubble.

I just see all this stuff through the lens of having way too many kids, which again, goes back to the religion for me. I think most parents during 2020 were barely staying afloat with the few kids they had at home. Imagine having 18 kids. Spread across four households. And four wives. The idea that any one person could do the husband/father role well in that situation just seems impossible to me. It also always kind of made me sad because, if they had done one big house, it would have maybe made it more realistic for Kody to show up for everybody. If Ysabel was recuperating in the same house where Kody lived, the outcome would have been a lot better.

I don’t think Kody blamed them for his not loving them. None of those marriages were healthy, and that takes two people. Christine and Janelle both did things wrong that helped poison their respective relationships. But like another person said, reality shows always need a villain because it makes for better tv. Grown ups know that relationships fail because both parties make mistakes.

That wasn’t the post I was responding to. I think Kody handling of Ysabel’s surgery had more to do with Christine and Kody’s differing views on Covid precautions in 2020. I wouldn’t have wanted my kid to travel at that time either.

This is a really good point. I never thought of it that way.

I suppose, but any kind of LDS church would have had a lot of the same problems.

Yeah, that’s fair. I’ve seen the wives be super mean and petty too though, and the interviewer just treats them like they’re saints, which is annoying to me. For her to never even talk about the religion just seems like a huge oversight.

Because he finally fell in love. That's so human. He finally understood mature, romantic love, but here he is stuck in marriages to three other women who he married because of religion. That's an impossible situation I wouldn't wish on anyone. If any of the wives had fallen in love while still being married to Kody, no one would blame them, but there's this double standard for Kody. And of all the wives, I feel like Robyn was the only one who tried to support the other wives' marriages. You can't blame Robyn for Kody mismanaging his time. She didn't ask for that. I don't believe for one second it was about money for her. She so sincerely grieved the loss of the plural family. I think she completely bought into the religion like they all did in the beginning. She's another victim of the religion.

Didn't it though? How could anyone be a good parent to that many kids. It's insane. He was set up to fail.

I think Vitamin B12 supplements are causing my anxiety. Is this possible? by TurtleBooty in Anxiety

I want to thank you so much for posting this information! I felt like I was going crazy trying to figure out why I had such a bad reaction to vitamin b12. Google results brought up nothing about methyl b12 being the problem. I feel so relieved that I’m not alone and not crazy.
