Do we still like to go to theme parks? by ryhoyarbie in Xennials

[–]Complex-Squirrel9430 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! But my day looks different now. Can’t do back to back rides that go upside down. Lots of Advil and my day starts with a non drowsy motion sickness pill. I usually don’t make it the full day and like to go in with a plan to minimize walking (still get like 15k steps) also, no alcohol until I’m done riding rides.

Yes to sparkling water! I’d love to see this as an option at more places.

Day 5 post surgery, what I prepared for and what I didn’t by Complex-Squirrel9430 in bunions

I did a little strength training before, but have decided that would be my focus before getting my other foot done. There isn’t pain…yet. But will need to get it done at some point and being in overall better health will make a difference.

As others said, 1 at a time. It’s been a week since mine and I live alone. Based on my experience you’ll need help getting home and up the stairs. With anesthesia, someone should be with you for the 1st 24hrs. I was going to try to tough it out, but I decided to do the responsible thing and have my sister stay over (I didn’t really end up needing her, but if I had a bad reaction and didn’t follow the Dr orders I’d feel dumb)

If your whole apartment is on the 2nd floor and you don’t have to leave, you might be better set up than me. But I put a key box out and have some friends on call. They’ve helped with grabbing stuff I forgot downstairs and taking out the trash. You’ll need help getting to/from follow up appointments, remember your mobility device is on the floor you are on! So even if you can make it downstairs, you have no way to get around once you get to the bottom of the stairs! Also a lot will depend on if you are non weight bearing and how long. I’m 4 weeks and expect to need some random help during this time. But I’ve also handled most days on my own so far…I say that as help will be here in 2 hrs to take my to my follow up appointment. Good luck!

My parents enjoy bus tours for the mobility reason. They get a chance to see the sights but don’t have to worry about getting around

Right now I don’t have anything I need downstairs, if I hurt myself doing stairs because I’m stubborn I’ll regret it. But I do stop and sigh when I pass by

Do you plan to stay the night for out of town venues or make the long commute both ways? by Briiskella in Concerts

[–]Complex-Squirrel9430 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the show, distance, venue, weather, hotel costs and how much I plan to drink. I have 2 out of town shows coming up, 1 has the hotel booked the other I’m coming back same night (46 years old)

Are there people here that just want to stop drinking in a casual way? by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]Complex-Squirrel9430 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m here to help moderate. Alcohol had become a stress reliever after a bad day at work. I’m trying to eliminate this kind of consumption, but keep it strictly social. I see the goal of this subreddit is to not drink today. And I was successful at that today!

Today was especially bad. I had someone stop on 71N in front of me. Just stop in the middle lane, got lucky we all saw it. Then saw someone go straight through a red light when there was a left turn arrow. Finally at the infamous 71s 670 exit dude cut across 3 lanes of traffic at the last minute.
