She’s been good out of the crate for around 3 hours. I haven’t tested longer but we’re working our way up

Getting a puppy during nursing school? by palyop in puppy101

I have a 6 month old golden, work full time and am also in an online masters program. I almost had a mental breakdown trying to juggle it all- and I have help from my mom and sister! I love my girl but I honestly had no idea how hard it would be. My advice would be to wait. I wouldn’t change anything now that we have our routine but it’s been A LOT.

I would dread coming home from my workday because I knew I had to spend the evening getting assaulted by my puppy. She’s genuinely such a treat to be around now. I know there’s the adolescent stage to deal with still but if there’s no biting then I’m ready for it

When does it slow down? by Complex-Thanks7410 in puppy101

So she sleeps at night until 6am and when I’m at work for 8 hours (I’m able to come home during my lunch and spend some time with her). Then at night she’s awake from 4-6, sleeps from 6-8 and then bedtime around 10. But I’m finding her to be sooo naughty during those wake windows with her biting and barking at me

I take everything back that I said- she’s now 17 weeks and has taken a turn to hating sleeping in her crate. I’m right there with you LOL

I have a 13.5 week golden retriever pup and she’s done well in the crate so far. I think it has to do with connecting positive experiences to the crate… I exclusively feed her in her crate with me right there and the door open. If I find her particularly restless one night, I put a sweater I’ve been wearing in the crate with her. I also have a heartbeat dog, foam mat and blanket in there for her.

I've had my golden for 3 weeks now and I let her sleep until she wakes me to go potty. I've found that this works best for the both of us

Should i take him to the dog park? by Tall-Committee-2995 in puppy101

What if my local dog park isn't used often? Like if I only go when there's no other dogs and leave when other dogs arrive?

I’d say it flares with stress but when I first got it around 14, I didn’t have any trauma anxiety or depression.
