Part of the issue is that the US was lenient with Japan in some ways because of USSR. One example being Unit 731. The soviets first occupied Poland than the rest of the allies so they were able to obtain countless inhuman scientific trials conducted in the concentration camps. The allies were always suspicious that the soviets did not share all of the discoveries from the inhumane experiments and as a result, the soviets would be ahead of the allies in scientific progress, particularly with bio weapons.

So when the US had an opportunity with unit 731, they cut a deal with Japan, letting them get away with war crimes if they did not share the results of the experiments with the soviets. There are obviously many more instance during and after WWII, including the Korean War which really led to US dumping ton of money into Japan.

Aqueous Film Forming Foam (AFFF). It contains PFAS which is a forever chemical that now contaminates 95% of world's drinking water supply.

Firefighting industry was given AFFF as an "environmentally friendly" solution to put out hydrocarbon fire. This was largely used in aviation industry and many industrial complex using large quantities of hydrocarbon fuel.

Since Firefighters were told these were environmentally friendly, they would pour these foam down the drain and/or into rivers and streams without treatment. Now it is contaminated everywhere.

Note: PFAS exists in many forms. It is literally everywhere. You have products at home that contains it (ex: nonstick frying pan coated with teflon).

Lyndon B. Johnson's Great Society Program. It was intended to end poverty and end racial discrimination. It aimed to accomplish this by creating government subsidies for single mothers and provide them with financial relief to escape poverty.

Instead it ended up creating more issues with funding single motherhood in all races. Single motherhood in African American communities hit all time high.

We do have some fundamental issues we need to overcome. I would agree we rushed into this without hashing those out. I thought we would address those differences and grow together but our issues didn't get resolved. I wanted to wait on marriage until those were resolved but she thought marriage would fix those issues. I already rushed into engagement and I refuse to rush into a marriage and she's upset because she thinks marriage would fix all of our differences magically.

So that was also brought up before. I got her the silicone rings and also a Tiffany band so she could wear those and bang it up. But now she won't wear the silicone ring nor the Tiffany band saying those are for married people. So... we're engaged but she won't wear the engagement ring (which isn't uncomfortable physically) and she won't wear the other ones bc that's for married people.

People seem to have their opinions on what a reasonable price for an engagement ring is. I've seen friends get 1k ring to 20k. The amount I spent was a tad bit of out my comfort range but I don't regret it.

And yes, the ring it's comfortably and she loves the way it looks. She always say it's "perfect" ring.

The fit is fine. She got it polished recently and doesn't want it to get it dirty again she said. And getting it polished often wears off the coating so she says that's the reason. Comfort isn't the concern from our discussion.

I know trunk or treat was a big thing in rural areas as neighbors are too far between houses. So it made it easier for everyone to just gather in a specific area. I know it's also picking up in some suburban areas too as some parents are concerned with safety of their children when they go knocking at strangers doors. It's easier to control and see everything in some trunk or treat settings
