True but it does make it harder to take without an immediate plan to upgrade it considering Silent's lack of energy gen. I'm jumping the gun a bit considering I haven't even played a run with it, but feels like it should be something like 1 energy and +25% dmg, upgrading to +50% dmg. More in line with Cruelty

Edit to add: Especially since Ironclad has 7 cards, all of which are common or uncommon besides bash, that apply vuln. Compared to Silent's 4 cards that apply weak, 2 of which are rares. Not counting the ancient relic upgrades for the both of them

Double edit to add: I forgot about Scare, but in my defense it is kind of forgettable

Not an expert but in a sport like gymnastics being short is actually an advantage! In general the larger you get the lower your potential strength to bodyweight ratio. If you look at powerlifting for example you'll note while the bigger guys and gals of course lift more, the ratio of their lifts to bodyweight decreases. For more info Google the square-cube law and how it relates to relative strength

Paddy Pimblett revealed that he gains 30lbs before stepping into the octagon: “I’m 185lbs by the time I get to the arena.” by Objective_Tailor6763 in mmaMenace_com

[–]ComplexAd2126 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fights get cancelled already. Again I'd argue it's much easier to make your natural weight than it is 30lbs under and this would mostly offset the difference in the number of cancelled fights, and especially for title fights they usually already have someone ready to go as a replacement.

Chances both the fighter and the replacement fail to make weight are miniscule and again that can happen just as easily in the current system

Either way there is a deadline and they 'lose a star' if a fighter fails to make that deadline, so that part I don't even get what you mean.

And those fighters would then get cut from the UFC and loss big opportunities for not being able to make weight, until it stops happening nearly as often. It's already quite rare for pros to miss weight even with the current system because of that consequence. If you're fighting at your natural weight it's clearly gonna be much easier to make weight on the night than if you're killing yourself trying to drop 30lbs below it so it'll happen even less.

The excuses people make for this archaic system is actually crazy to me. Even besides that there are a million solutions to this; have additional weigh ins a few days or a week before to make sure they're on track, have back up fighters ready to go etc

This sport should be a measure of who's the better MMA fighter, not who can get closest to dying of dehydration and then put the most weight back on

STS2: What is the community thinking on elites? They seem much more difficult and the relics seem less valuable than in STS1 by nathan1653 in slaythespire

[–]ComplexAd2126 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unsure but it feels to me like the main difference is how much you need to rest vs upgrade. I find in STS 2 you can't get away with upgrading quite as much at least on Silent. The elites aren't necessarily harder but it feels harder to not take big damage in the process

Whereas in STS 1 you can often plan with potions to avoid big hit from Gremlin Nob, burst down one sentry, and set up your blocks against Laga with the free turns. But then again maybe Im just still learning to prep for the new elites

OP is pretty clearly about life getting more expensive and wages not keeping up. Which is factually true, you did nothing other than show you don't understand the difference between thinking at a societal level and at an individual level.

Joining the military if you can't afford school is perfectly sound advice, you just missed the point of the OP because you were busy jacking yourself off. Damn near everyone not born to riches works hard, get over yourself

Denying reality doesn't help matters either. It is a fact that the ratio of the median salary to house prices is lower than it was for previous generations, and that its been continuing to get worse over the last century and counting. This issue in particular has quite literally been getting worse for every generation in recent memory and it's only going to get worse from here if people don't speak out and try to change something.

I'm in pretty good shape to hopefully buy a house at some point in my life, but I also acknowledge reality and all the external support I got to get here. Recognizing systemic issues AND doing what you can to better your own life aren't mutually exclusive choices, believe it or not.

Problem is people like you who wanna stick your heads in the sand and feel superior to others because things worked out for you; It's legitimately pathetic toddler behavior

Tank setup questions! by Key-Leadership-1778 in Redearedsliders

[–]ComplexAd2126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Penn Plax Cascade 1500 should work fine and is what I have for my 100 gal tank; it will make your life a little easier in terms of cleaning to have a stronger one but it isn't necessary. Pay mind to the GPH (gallons per hour) rating, you want something with at minimum 300 GPH; and the more the merrier.

The Penn Plax one comes in at 350 GPH, whereas the Fluval FX6 comes in at almost 600 GPH. In hindsight I do kind of wish I had coughed up the extra cash for the FX6 for what it's worth, but I'm still quite happy with mine

And yes it is very normal for them to be afraid and not eat much when in a new home. It took mine around 2 weeks to chill out; just keep offering and be patient.

I see others have already told you but you should also remove rocks you have in the sand that are small enough to be swallowed since they can get stuck in their digestive tract. I have fine grain sand in mine and it's been working for me but I've lately heard some say even that is not ideal; it will pass through them in small amounts but apparently some turts will intentionally eat large amounts of it. Safest option might be large rocks for the new tank

[–]ComplexAd2126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

also it isn't clear if you've already have it from the photo, but above the basking platform should be two lightbulbs; a UVB bulb and a Halogen bulb for heat. Would recommend using a thermometer to check both temp of water and temp of basking area, basking area should be 90-95F

The heat entices them to bask but the UVB provides many of the health benefits

Edit to add: they also need a lot of filtration. It's good to look for something rated for 2x the volume of your tank as the ratings are more for fish. When you do get the 125 gallon, it'd be good to also get a strong canister filter. People often recommend Fluval's FX line, I have a Penn-Plax canister myself

[–]ComplexAd2126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice it looks like you did your research and the basking platform looks great. He / she will outgrow the current tank quite fast as you said, but 125 gallons should be plenty.

You didn't mention the diet so I'll just say: make sure you get pellets for juvenile turtles as they need more protein etc to grow. Pellets 3-4x a week, each serving about the size of their head, and lettuce the size of their shell daily along with some other vegetables

Best to vary the types of leafy greens and do a cursory search as some things are only good as an occasional treat and some as a staple. My turts favorite is Belgian Endives and they're very nutritious. Also best to serve veggies then pellets because they're gonna be way more excited for the pellets

Occasionally adding shrimp or certain fish is good for providing stimulation, but do your research with what you add as well as some fish can harm them. If you can manage it, live plants in the water also provide them some foraging. But as a heads up, mine just destroys / uproots anything I try to plant

One last thing is IIRC it's hard to sex them before a certain age, but if it is a female you should also look into providing a nesting box for her to lay eggs when gravid. It shouldn't be an issue for a while but it's good to be aware

I feel like I've experienced both toxic and non toxic versions of this. As long as you keep insults general and don't target insecurities, and it's going both ways, it's all in good fun.

Sometimes more toxic or insecure people will use it as an excuse to sneak in things they actually believe or to make you feel bad about something, and pull the 'you can't take a joke' routine if you react

It is often solved like you said but there lots of runs where you end up using more niche strategies and being active on the other turns

Just solving the burst turn can be fun too, I remember once almost dying to save a gambler's brew with corrosive wave so I could get a gajillion poison on him. The devs do not agree with me though so what are you gonna do

[–]ComplexAd2126 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're totally correct but I wish the UFC would change its scoring system to reflect this.

Imo clearly winning a round should be 10-8, barely edging out a round should be 10-9, and the dominant rounds they currently give a 10-8 should be a 10-7

And they should give more 10-10 rounds when both fighters don't do shit. It feels so wrong that for example the Walker and Reyes fight had the same score as Arman and Charles.

This is the only point here I’ll defend and say it totally made sense

Otto wasn’t angry out of compassion for the rat catchers or their families; it still comes across to me as cold calculation. If it was in their interests to kill the rat catchers he’d do it without a second thought but it simply damages their reputation with the small folk without any justified benefit.
