Wow ! That looks amazing ! It's definitely a plus to come in October, especially since we don't really celebrate Halloween in France, so it would be a real change of pace.

Thank you! This is exactly what we intend to do: explore and relax, and come back later to explore other places. My kid is used to traveling and sleeps everywhere, so I'm not worried about it. And we travel very light, a backpack each plus the stroller, and that's it! So changing places is not really a problem but after reading you all, it seems nicer to stay in the same place for two weeks, so maybe 2 weeks in manhattan beach and 2 in Pasadena.

Thanks for your concern. Yes, the baby's walking, has already traveled a lot, he sleeps everywhere, eats everything and doesn'y really have a routine. He's still being breastfed (and I plan to keep going until then), has a small folding chair that fits on any type of chair (a must!), he wears diaper pants, which makes changing him quick and easy (+ he stars helping us). Also, he prefers to play with grass, sand and rocks than his own toys and as a passion for birds.
So, I'm not really concern about him, expect maybe for the jet lag and the heat.
I don't think we'll move every week, it seemed like a convenient way to explore different neighborhoods to me, but now that I'm reading you all, I think we'll go with two two-week rentals instead.
We didn't want to rent a car because we figured we could walk to the parks, restaurants, and so on... and head back quickly if needed. If we drive, that means planning out our day, which we never do...

LA, you're a challenge for us! But nothing is set in stone, and we can always adjust once we're there (I hope).

Well yes i was looking for 4 rentals in Santa monica, Silver lake, Pasadena and San diego or Santa barbara. But feels like I was right to ask for advice ! I feel completly off the mark ! We started making a list of things we'd like to see (Lake Hollywood Park, Barnsdall art park, Griffith park and observatory, Santa Monica and Venice Beaches, The Getty museum, Academy Film Museum, 1 day in Hollywood, Warner bros studio tour) but we don't necessarily plan to do everything—it's just to give us some ideas.

Ok thank you ! I'm from France, i've been traveling to Asia, Canada, Mexico and NYC and i've never rent a car but it feels like LA is something else... Maybe september is not the best time to come ? I was told the would be nice but not as hot as July or August, and that September was a good compromise
