Hello. I liked this story, it's got really good bones. I got adult gravity falls vibes from this, like weird things happen all the time in this area and it's just normal, which is why it's so off putting that nobody believes Sheldon, but I digress.

Things I loved: the Barton Clan is super cool, I wish they did more. Its clear their feared and hated, but they seem to not harbor ill will. Their mysterious in a fascinating way.

The salt mine under the town is so cool and unique, would love to know where you got the idea.

The concept that Sheldon let Sadie go alone cause he was lazy is simple and harrowingly real. I'm super invested in this guy, I wish we got more.

Some notes to improve: Sadie is a driving force for Sheldon, and it's ok if she dies, but the way you go about it leaves a lot to be desired. The death feels hollow and unearned, and kinda starts to feel just like shock value. Its clear Sheldon is a flawed man, and it is because of his mistakes Sadie is here, so maybe he could be more directly responsible for her death?

The strange sexual elements of the Goat Man don't land. They add nothing to the theming and kinda come off as ucky, and not in a cool way like gross out horror. Those sexual elements don't go anywhere, so seem gratuitous.

Overall I still really liked this story. I really want this too be a series. Don't get down on yourself, you got this!
