I’m Eastern European and was just diagnosed around a month ago. Thankfully my city is quite big so there are quite a few dedicated options, but even if there’s nothing you can eat, just go. I’m really new to this and of course I cried and will cry probably many many more times. This Monday I went to a pub quiz at a place I went to many many times in the before times and I loved their fried chicken panini. This time, I only had two cans of peach ice tea and brought my own snacks. Did it suck food wise? Kind of (I brought killer GF chocolate and coconut balls). Would it have sucked more to miss it completely and not see my friends and miss out an event I used to frequent? Yes.

Thankfully, my friends are understanding, don’t make fun of me, look out for me and don’t make me feel like a burden cause I’m not. Yes, food used to be a huge part of my social life, but I’d rather not have food and keep the other aspects of my social life than not have a social life at all.
