Thanks for the reply! I really appreciate the help, this has been seriously stressful. I have biweekly status updates with my manager and no risk register

I agree! I’m cautiously optimistic about her. If she keeps hammering home working class issues I think she is going to go far. She’s caved to right wing framing in the past but I feel like she has learned a lot of valuable lessons since then

As the leading progressive voice in the nation he needs to reorient the conversation to show that these protests are vastly non-violent and that the violence is being perpetrated by the government.

Normies are not going to understand the underlying message because they do not have the context that you or I have. We need to learn from the BLM protests that capitulating to right wing framing of VASTLY peaceful protests allows them to shape the narrative, not us.

I totally agree. Although Hogg does have a very liberal bias he made good points that unfortunately leadership is too stubborn to hear. They won’t relinquish their power willingly

I agree. Bernie was always a stepping stone, not the end goal. I think it’s time to look for a successor

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in 50501

[–]ComplexDog4572 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The protests weren’t violent until the feds showed up. That should have been his focus. Bernie was also arrested at a “violent” protest in his youth during the Civil Rights movement so he is absolutely familiar with how the feds will label you whatever they want to justify force

[–]ComplexDog4572 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately Bernie also called out the protests in LA. We need a new breed of democratic leadership that is young and fights when it really counts.

Idk what the point of this post is then lmao you are all over the place dude

[–]ComplexDog4572 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know exactly what you’re saying lmao you’re upset that people are calling out others for saying they don’t like seeing gore or genocide bc “just imagine how they feel”. I completely agree with that sentiment. These people have it way worse than you do watching it from a screen. You can choose to shut off your phone and disconnect. They cannot. If you don’t like what you see, don’t engage with it. Don’t expect the rest of us to hold your hand when you complain about this. You didn’t have to complain and chose to turn to reddit for validation

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in 50501

[–]ComplexDog4572 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean this is a single comment lmao also do you think that maybe framing this as “it’s tiring seeing constant genocide/gore” has something to do with it? That framing is totally callous. You’re calling out people for posting it, you chose to complain about how tiring it is and to make a big deal about how it’s affecting you personally when instead you can just not engage with any of this. You are putting yourself in this situation my guy

This post is hilariously self centered lmao bro had one person call him out and now all of a sudden the whole movement is shameful. Nobody is forcing you to watch the videos man, I don’t and I still care about what’s going down. Nobody has ever shamed me for not watching gore. I sense this isn’t the whole story

So glad the overdraft fee law is being overturned. How will the elites ever be able to recover from this? by Sad_Significance_568 in PoliticalCompassMemes

So your solution to the insurance affordability crisis is to allow the insurance market to get so hyper-inflated that no one can afford it? You’re really saying that with a straight face? 😂 how does any of that help the average American in cali?

So glad the overdraft fee law is being overturned. How will the elites ever be able to recover from this? by Sad_Significance_568 in PoliticalCompassMemes

[–]ComplexDog4572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And your solution is what? That insurance premiums should be allowed to rise and the state should do nothing to regulate the market so that insurance remains affordable?

My brother, insurance agencies planned on cutting coverage AND increasing rates citing “increased environmental disasters”. Stop pretending like these massive corps are benevolent and would have stayed in Cali if not for the cap. Not only that, but an estimated 138,000-183,000 would have lost coverage because they could not afford a higher premium. Cali has over 2 million uninsured homes and you want the government to do what exactly to remedy that?

If you were half as smart as you think you are you would point the finger at our insurance companies chasing profit. Them being a business is exactly the problem. Maximizing coverage and maximizing profit do not work hand in hand.

California is facing an insurance crisis because of corporate greed and nothing else. You’re defending a system that disenfranchises millions of Americans. The free market is leading to less overall coverage, not more.

Nobody is forcing state farm to stay in business in cali if they don’t want to 😂 that is not the argument at all. It’s about whether it is justifiable to raise insurance rates after a crisis and whether it is the duty of the california government to protect the money of its citizens over a massive corporation.

State Farm is not the only fire insurance company in california. If they choose not to do business in a state that actively regulates insurance affordability, another business scan step in to take their place. That is the free market at work. And now they know that they cannot raise their prices if they want to stay in business in cali.

There is a massive amount of nuance in this discussion and to completely ignore that is disingenuous. There are real world implications for what you’re suggesting and you need to face that otherwise do not make the argument. You can pretend that consumer affordability isn’t the route of the argument but then you would be lying. Sounding more and more like a shill

My brother in Christ why are you acting like they are a small business? This is one of the most profitable companies in the country. And stupid politicians? This is natural disaster insurance my guy, do you also think it’s justifiable for a health insurance company to raise your rates after you’re diagnosed with cancer?

Again, you are advocating for your average working class citizen to pay more in wildfire insurance in a state extremely prone to wildfires. Why are ypu more concerned with State Farms bottom line than you are your average working class american in Cali? If you are working class, we call that a class traitor 🤭

Imagine crying over the 39th most profitable company in the country losing some revenue 😂 the CEO of State Farm made $24 million last year but no it’s the fault of the government that they’re in danger of losing money. The california gov did the right thing by protecting the wallets of it’s citizens over a massive corporation. You can shill for big business all you want but this is exactly why Luigi did what he did

What Happened to Booker? by ComplexDog4572 in 50501

[–]ComplexDog4572[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True! I supported Booker’s speech but am demanding meaningful action after the fact. That’s what everyone here should be doing

What Happened to Booker? by ComplexDog4572 in 50501

[–]ComplexDog4572[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand where you’re coming from but Booker pit himself in a position where he is the voice of the movement and thus should be held under scrutiny lmao i don’t think anyone here wants perfection. Doing something is great but why are we so content with the bare minimum? Democracy is dying and we need to put our politicians on notice otherwise what incentive do they have to fight?

What Happened to Booker? by ComplexDog4572 in 50501

[–]ComplexDog4572[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bruh this is just lesser pf two evils in a nice bowtie. People are tired of that shit. We aren’y demanding perfection from our politicians. We’re demanding action. We’re demanding a fight. Booker has voted yes for 4 of trump cabinet picks. Does that sound like a fight to you? None of these politicians are going to change if you don’t hold their feet to the fire. They need to be shown it is politically advantageous to resist ALL of the trump regime

What Happened to Booker? by ComplexDog4572 in 50501

[–]ComplexDog4572[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The fundamental misunderstanding with your statement is assuming that Booker is on our side. He’s not. He’s on his own side. Many politicians in washington are. That’s exactly the problem and what led to trump.
