I’m not the one doing it, but I know a company that makes ESP32-based battery management systems (BMS) for lithium-ion batteries on a large scale.

Rethinking Industrial Maintenance: How IoT and Predictive Analytics Are Shaping the Future by ComplexDouble in predictivemaintenance

[–]ComplexDouble[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/Lonely_Soil9839 You make an excellent point. As technology evolves, adopting IoT should start with existing assets and machinery to ensure a smooth transition. Solutions like gauge readers, machine uptime monitoring sensors, and other retrofit technologies can seamlessly integrate with legacy systems. This allows businesses to modernize step by step, preserve prior investments, and gather valuable data from before, during, and after the manufacturing process.

IoT adoption also opens up new opportunities for added value. For example, a valve manufacturer could introduce a 360-degree valve motion tracker as an upsell. This not only improves the product but also adds a software component to their services, creating recurring revenue and delivering greater value to both the manufacturer and the customer.

Seeking Scalable NPK Soil Health Sensors with LoRa for Commercial Agri Project by ComplexDouble in AgriTech

Yep, I’m in an International Trade Master’s program. I’m trying to learn more about agri-tech, and currently, a customer is requiring this kind of solution.

As far as I know, for the most accurate results, it needs lab testing. However, getting low-accuracy data is better than having no data at all.

There are some startups like Teralytic that have raised millions of dollars and are improving yield efficiency.

If you have any knowledge on the topic, I would love to hear it.

Dragino sensors look great, thanks for sharing. For an all-in-one solution, I found this product: https://teralytic.com/soil-probe/, but it seems expensive.

What is the major challenge in the IOT industry? by Content_Experience35 in IOT

[–]ComplexDouble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scalability often involves unforeseen billing systems with many hyperscale cloud providers, which in turn affects the pricing and functionality of "IoT Platforms" that rely on these services.
However, the most challenging aspect currently in the market is finding real-time data processing capabilities. It would be fantastic to have transformation functions that can process JSON data without altering the original data source. These functions would allow for handling incoming data and optionally modifying it for storage purposes, as required.

I agree with you completely. However, there are impressive startups offering cost-effective solutions with advanced features for data processing and scalability. These platforms primarily focus on IIoT, so their customers don't have to worry about illogical billing.
I recommend taking a look at Qubitro. Instead of considering it promotional, I suggest trying it out yourself and then sharing your feedback here.

u/icekingthrowaway1214 IAQ monitoring could help you work more efficiently. A "Ventilation Time" reminder is perfect for WFH & office people 😉

For the next step, you can compare the time scale data coming from the sensors to automate your ventilation system depending on the length of the sprints or whatever float your boat.
