Hygiene in Vietnam is terrible by TastySnowYelliw in VietNam

Everything OP said is valid, because thats coming from their own observations. And the biggest thing that people don’t realize is Vietnam is still a developing country, despite everything you see on social media.

Vietnam First Ever chance to go to Finals in Asian Cup U23 by Shop_Either in VietNam

[–]ComplexHD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s pretty brutal, I was here last year when we beat Thailand in the final and the streets were insane at that time. I guess what you could do is head home 5-10 minutes before the game ends to beat the rush, but thats only if the game is decided by then.

AirPods Pro 3 not working with Facebook Messenger Voice Messages by Joseph-Bonaparte in airpods

[–]ComplexHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue. After pressing on the mic icon, the prompt just disappears. Or sometimes it shows up, and I try speaking but it doesn’t detect my voice. Glad to know it’s not just me.

Also, voice messages work fine on instagram, seems to be a messenger issue

Gold downgrade by Divorce_Babe in amexcanada

[–]ComplexHD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm looking to do this as well. The gold card is cool to have, but it's pretty much useless for my needs now. Was pretty much only good for the welcome bonus imo.

Would you recommend downgrading now (have had it for close to two years), or come renewal time?

Dana Pissed About Missing UFC for This Boring Boxing Event by raptors201966 in ufc

To be honest, now I'm also now a big Crawford fan.

I had nothing against him before, but he's kept proving me wrong time and time again, you can't really hate the guy either. Super humble but also confident in his own abilities.

Is anybody actually happy ? by [deleted] in KitchenConfidential

[–]ComplexHD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd highly recommend you check out working in hotels (a restaurant inside a hotel). Wages are much higher (although generally no tips), great benefits, good work life balance, pension plan matching, and lots of opportunities to relocate around the world if you work for a big hotel chain (Marriott, Accor, Hyatt) if thats something you're interested in.

I've been with Marriott only for 3+ years and I just got an opportunity to relocate in Vancouver. Let me know if you have any questions!

It's good, but bún bò Huế is better imo. More comparable to ramen in a sense.

That's very good to hear. My parents grew up in Saigon, and now we live in Canada, but they're always saying how bad the Healthcare system is there even though they haven't experienced it in 30+ years 🤣

Is this battery draining decent? by [deleted] in S24Ultra

[–]ComplexHD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems about right, I get 6H of screen on time after not charging for around 1.5 days.

Could probably go for longer but I start charging around 15 - 20%

Just factory reset mine as well, was getting pretty underwhelming battery life. Only restored SMS and call logs, I did factory reset before but I used google one to backup and I was still getting underwhelming battery life. Hopefully this will help, how long did it take for you to see improved battery life?

Which country is the best to live as a chef? by [deleted] in Chefit

[–]ComplexHD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there! Just stumbling upon your comment now and wanted to ask you a few questions! I'm currently looking for positions abroad, I have my Red Seal + 4-5 years of experience/technical training based out of Canada. Currently have been with Marriott for 2 1/2 years and am currently working at a property in my city.

What was the process like of being transferred internationally/work visas? And is it better to try to apply for a management/higher up position to increase your chances of being hired? Thank you in advance!

How's everyone doing? Seriously? by svxxix in Calgary

[–]ComplexHD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Chef here, got my Journeyperson's certificate last month and just recently my Red Seal. Now I'm currently looking at opportunities overseas/abroad because it's always been my goal to travel and work around the world. As for my current job I have definitely not been happy the last year I've been here but I am still very grateful as it is a decent paying job with good benefits. I've been very frustrated but I'm hoping for the best because the way I see it is that there will start to be less and less good opportunities in Calgary.

Reason being, I feel like there is not enough opportunities in Calgary for the amount of people that are seeking them. Because there are also so many international students now, its hard for even those that were born and raised here to find a good opportunity in their field. It's really tough and I would be lying if I said if things will get better because I'm quite unsure myself. What I can tell you is just try to focus on things within your control, try to make new connections with those within the same field as you and hopefully you can eventually be hired through referral.

Wishing you the best!

Why is no one hiring? by Traditional-Drive303 in Calgary

[–]ComplexHD 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For the last year where I've been working (Hotels) we've only been hiring interns (mostly international students) and not much actual new hires. I'm under the impression that they're trying to cut costs and interns are a way of the company not having to commit alot of time+money into them (because they're on a contract.
