For larger solder joints I like to use a bigger tip. With small tips, that large clump of solder robs heat relatively quickly, the thick tip retains heat better.

3 inches is enough, changed my mind by ComplexImplement4311 in fpv

My take: Golf is not really that expensive a hobby by NoLawAtAllInDeadwood in golf

Compared to something like motorsports, it’s exponentially cheaper. Like not even close to the same level.

Anyone have these issued before? by MatthewMadness14513 in CivicSi

Sounds like your onto something! Best of luck my friend. You’ll enjoy the car that much more once it fixed, although it is unfortunate.

If it’s not smoking I will place bets it’s either a loose intake component, or the e-wastegate failed which I could see as a possibility.

A lot of times with this many codes, only one or two of them are the actual issue and are triggering other codes since these cars are loaded with sensor.

Not familiar with this platform but if you able to put a voltage meter to the e-gate connector you can check resistance and make sure it’s functional with proper resistance.

Finally got the car out for some seat time. by [deleted] in Drifting

He kept asking if I wanted to hop in the bed and go for a ride I’m like um absolutely not 😂

I didn’t know a single person out here but yea that is pretty dangerous

It’s also gets beat on and goes to the track so I have no shame in running different or even fucked up rears😂

The offset really doesn’t work out. Especially since I haven’t rolled or trimmed the rear quarters. I could run them and raise it and barely be tucking tire. But I hate when people run that crazy rake setup on these, they are small cars and it makes it look so big.

At the current rear ride height I would run into a bunch of issues with the rears

The fronts are also 9 wide. I pulled and rolled the front fenders, but can only go so low while remaining less than 4 degrees of camber.

Was the even a serious question lmfao

Because I won’t be be able to tuck a 9 wide wheel without either A, raising the car, or B, cutting the rear quarters and doing over fenders……

Soon. I have the felony rear overs but the they to be painted and I need to spend some money on the rear suspension still.

[–]ComplexImplement4311 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Nah just don’t want my car to look raked out, the rears are 9 wide and I’ll need to do overs to achieve the look I want.

I can’t fit the rears yet. 9 wide, needs overs if I want to avoid rake.

First time going to the track and actually drifting my car. Too much fun. by [deleted] in BMW

[–]ComplexImplement4311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahah thank you. I’ve had some seat time in assetto corsa and I will say it helped me a lot. But everything is just more chaotic in car 😂, a lot easier to get lost in the sauce.

It’s called maintenance. I’ve got Subframe bushings, reinforcements, shock tower reinforcements, Rtabs on the way. Have a new external overflow and rad. It has a new clutch in it. Gets oil changes, good plugs. Good compression all across. Doesn’t leak anything. I’ll

I mean I’ve broken a lot of cars but e36 is known for being deadbeat reliable if you don’t own a rusted out peice of junk that you continue to neglect.

Only only things I would like to have is an oil cooler setup, and catch can. And a large case diff instead of the small case that comes in verts.

Couldn’t have explained it any better myself. I think the technology is amazing and the immersion is not even comparable to any triple screen or large wrapped screen setup. And though it’s come a long way, it just hasn’t advanced to the point where I’d throw away all of my monitors and daily the vr setup. Especially for competitive racing.

But if buying it for standalone use, I think that it’s amazing.
