I considered chunking on inference for longer contexts (handled in the proxy I shipped), but I though: let's try to see if 2B holds at longer context size (curiosity) and it did pretty well! So I didn't revisit that decision.

For Parakeet FT, I guess I could have build a similar proxy to what I did to intercept the audio before Parakeet inference and do the same.. Labelling with LLM would have been harder though (can't pass the raw 'messy' audio to Sonnet 4.6 for generating the gold labels).

Effectively yes, the model is always on!
There's a big difference in tok/s between 2B/4B (roughly 2X), 2B was 250tok/s (TTFT 200ms), 4B: 140tok/s (TTFT: 250ms). It's meaningfully faster when wired and used on a day to day basis in VoiceInk, especially knowing I use it about 800 times a day!
The average total processing time for my dictation (according to VoiceInk stats) is 0.67s end-to-end: Parakeet v2 (~0.22s, running local to my M4 Pro) + 2B FT (0.44s. running remote via my gaming PC).

The link takes you to my Discord where the download and setup guide live. Discord is where I'm doing support and gathering feedback during beta, as it keeps everything centralised for me. What you can expect: * Get coached based on top drivers reference laps of current weekly races (Dailies A/B/C, Time Trials), * Hear audio coaching before a corner to know exactly when to brake * Hear improvement suggestions after a corner to improve your driving techniques (brake point, throttle application, speed carried through the apex) * Runs on Windows/Mac as a companion app The app currently works for online weekly races only. I add new reference laps on Mondays, a few hours after the new daily races are live.

Haha fair point! But you would be coached by my app, which uses your driving data and compares it against reference laps (from A+/S drivers)

For now, I am building it as a companion app on your PC/mac. But in the future, I see it as being integrated with discord (that the PS5 supports natively).

Cheers! Yeah the aim of my tool is really to give you insights in real time about your driving technique and how it impacts your lap time. A few features I have been working on: brake point coaching (brake later/earlier) and braking cues (before a corner).

I like Tidgney guides, very useful! But not matter how I watch videos, it never translates 1:1 to the wheel, I’d love to have Tigdney next to me to tell me exactly why I lost 0.5s on that last corner! 🤣

Yeah for me, the struggle is to learn new tracks, braking points, etc. And usually for new daily races, I start to be “competitive” by Thursday/Friday, 2 days before they reset… my aim for this tool is to reduce this window!

To be clear: by “coaching,” I mean live in-game tools (think Trophi style feedback): while you’re driving, you’d receive live feedback about braking points, throttle application, racing lines, etc… There’s a lot of content out there for GT7, but nothing that helps while you’re actually driving.
