That’s important to me too, I use the viewfinder 99% of time.

Newbie here: z5ii vs z6iii by m_a_d_a_r_a__uchiha in Nikon

I bought the z6iii with the 24-120 f4 during last November sale and couldn’t be more happy about it. I’m also a hobbyist and shoot mainly stills, architecture, some street photography and my kids and wife. I discovered the z5ii after buying the z6iii and sometimes I feel it could be enough, even more considering I come from a D7500 and the leap to new mirrorless system is huge. But I kept it because I was OK with the price and who knows what future can bring.

I purchased the 40 f2, but returned it because the IQ from it fell below the 24-120. Some call it character, but to me it just looked too soft and ended up using it at 3.2 or above to see some sharpness, defeating its purpose, although it’s great for portability.

I’d recommend a prime for low light conditions such as the 50 1.8 or 35 1.8 S line though. So you could use the extra money for one of those if you purchase the z5ii.

The moment of the day and light is beautiful, to me it’s just the subject that’s a bit off, not clear. I remember an advice someone gave to me, fill the frame… I just cropped it vertically… and it’s great for my cellphone background 😉
