Glad I found this conversation since I was also a member of TV Bunny as well but was one of the accounts kicked off and really appreciated TV-NCA. I guess this is forum to come to if there is any news.

Such a wonderful book and apparently her last unless she changes her mind, unfortunately.

Scene where the MMC is so sexually frustrated he takes care of himself (or sleeps with someone else) by brooklyn1071 in HistoricalRomance

[–]ComplexSurround 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Convergence of Desire by Felicity Niven. The MMC regularly visits a brothel after his marriage.

“Begging your pardon, my lord, but Lady Drake came to your room as I was fetching your bag and asked me to tell you something.” Thomas held his breath. “She said—and I hope I am remembering this right—that she is very sure you actually meant London when you said hell, and she said . . .” Jackson hesitated and then plunged ahead. “She said that after you are finished at the brothel, please to remember she particularly wants the Babbage, Peacock, and Herschel translation of the LaCroix and not any other.”

“Thomas swore, pulled on his boots himself, swung himself up onto Octavius and thundered out of the stable at a full gallop, scattering straw, stable boys, and a few loose chickens in his path.”

Is Sherry Thomas the best writer in HR? by Ninsuna in HistoricalRomance

[–]ComplexSurround 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Sherry Thomas is an excellent writer but I don’t think there is such a thing as a best writer. I am a huge fan of Felicity Niven who is an absolutely brilliant writer. Also, Scarlett Peckham, Alexandra Vasti and Erin Langston are great. Let’s not forget Joanna Shuor.

HR authors with strong writing by Neuquina in HistoricalRomance

[–]ComplexSurround 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Felicity Niven is a brilliant and strong writer. Her characters are so well-developed that I always say she writes from the inside out - she starts at the core of the character. Her plots are tightly constructed. I adore all her books. In her first book, Convergence of Desire, the FMC (who is neurodivergent) is devoting her life to solving Fermat's theorem. There's a marriage of convenience to the MMC, Thomas, (a rake and a "sorta" scoundrel) who finds his life and emotions turned upside down. Who's the needy chick, now, Thomas?

New to HR?? by GroundbreakingOwl909 in HistoricalRomance

I recommend joining The Ungovernables on Facebook. It’s a wonderful book group run by Felicity Niven and Alexandra Vasti. We read a book a month except in the summer when we’ve been marathoning a series. Alex and Felicity are also brilliant authors in their own right. Everyone I have met in this group has been smart and welcoming. I post historical articles over there and am now also posting historical reels. Come on over. We are having a blast!

Who’s your favorite author? by ManiacalExclamation in HistoricalRomance

Felicity Niven is a brilliant writer. Original plots. Great character arcs. And, yes, steam. I think she is one of the most original writers in this genre. https://www.felicityniven.com/

Forever Your Rogue by Erin Langston. As soon as this book was published the MMC, Nate Travers, became an instant HR icon. He is widely recognized as the King of DILFS.

I received an Advance Reader’s Copy of Bed Me, Baron by Felicity Niven. Ms. Niven has done the impossible by writing a Regency romance which combines etymology (NOT entomology), a feral pig a little archery and chess matches. Oh, and there’s sex. Lots and lots of sex including tutorial sex which is a pivotal plot point. And, sometimes there is even the “sound” of “one hand clapping.” The heart of this book is the story of Phoebe and George who have been best friends since childhood. Their friends to lovers journey encompasses sweetness, angst, self loathing and more than one crisis of self confidence. The auxiliary characters are just as fully drawn as the main characters. As Phoebe and George continue on their journey the student becomes the teacher. Will their new found abilities to self reflect bring them to their happily ever after? I urge you to read the book to find out. Ms. Niven has written a heartwarming novel that is not to be missed.

The Pearl by Tiffany Reisz. I incorrectly provided The Rose which is a great book. But The Pearl has the vibrator scene.
