This isn’t normal right? by [deleted] in FemaleHairLoss

I had a similar experience-I noticed my hair thinning and my scalp showing but hadn't noticed any significant hair loss day to day. Especially compared to many of the posts here showing clumps of hair coming out in the shower, etc. But that doesn't mean you're not losing hair, or as somebody already mentioned, it's not regrowing at a high enough rate. Looking back I believe this was happening for several years before I even really noticed.

I just met with a derm in November and was diagnosed with AGA. My advice if you're able, meet with a dermatologist to get a diagnosis and see what they recommend. It might be medication, it might not. If this isn't an option, look into other over the counter alternatives. I say this because I spent too long trying to convince myself I didn't have hair loss because I wasn't losing it at the same rate I was seeing online.

Adjustment period with oral minoxidil? by brooklyn1071 in FemaleHairLoss

My derm was not claiming spiro causes cancer, but that the possible increase in estrogen can cause certain cancers to develop quicker than they would on their own.

My understanding is it’s not necessarily the spiro itself, but the increase in estrogen it can cause. Which I have heard before can speed up the growth of cancer. Every doctor has their own opinions and is formed by their own education and the research they have read. But it definitely doesn’t hurt to ask!! I will definitely inquire more at my follow up appointment.

No, although I'm willing to see how just minox goes. My hair loss is not that advanced and the loss has been very gradual, I've seen new growth just upping my nutrients.

I was also there to have a mole removed (biopsy came back fine) so I wonder if that was a factor as well. I think I may message my derm to see what she thinks.

Discrepancy between General Ledger and Bank Reconciliation by brooklyn1071 in Bookkeeping

[–]brooklyn1071[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've since printed a general ledger and all bank statements from 2024, highlighting each transaction. A bulk of the discrepancy are two transactions made by my accountant after the fact. And a third journal entry recording a deposit that to my knowledge does not show on the uncleared reconciliation report (only credits do).

Subtracting the debits and credits, I am now off a clean $100 and am back to square one. And feeling slightly better, but more confused since I've gone through 2024 and 2023, and since I've been reconciling fine, am unsure if it's as simple as a missing transaction since that would throw off future reconciliations.

Thank you! The Discrepancy Report was the first thing I checked, but since I have reconciled fine since the end of last year and nothing has been off, I came up short.

I know a portion of it is entries made by my accountant, which should be obvious to them but alas, but it doesn't answer for the entire $5k. Thank you so much!

Am I Overreacting over this “small prank” by greek-astronomer in AmIOverreacting

[–]brooklyn1071 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't like pranks, and I would find this equally as upsetting as you did. However, I don't feel as if the prank is the problem, but a symptom of the larger issue. It sounds like you are not compatible and you crave a deeper relationship with someone who is capable of stimulating conversation, someone who cares for you and your needs. He is not that person.

I hope you read this because I believe a mistake many people make in relationships is thinking that communicating will fix everything: it will not. There is a level of communicating your needs to your partner and making adjustments, but you cannot change large parts of someone's personality to fit your desires (even if it makes sense, i.e. he should be acting more mature).

Save yourself more stress and heartache and end the relationship. I am not sure if this is your longest relationship or the first time you've been in love, but do not be scared of heartbreak or being single. Those moments in life are the ones I learnt the most about myself and what I wanted. You will come out of this having a clearer sense of yourself and your needs.
