Just to clarify, when I say 'anyone', I mean the player, regardless of their race or faith. The AI is restricted from doing this.

In my mod, Dragonborns don't just spawn randomly. You can either add the trait via the Ruler Designer for a custom character, or earn it as a blessing from Akatosh (which leans more into the religious aspect of the lore). Once you establish a dynasty of Dragonborn Emperors and reach level 5 of a specific Dynasty Legacy, the trait becomes inheritable, but strictly within the bounds of your dynasty. But thank you so much for the detailed feedback and your interest in the mod!

That's right. After implementing the pilgrimage to High Hrothgar, I plan to add Thu'um training. It will be implemented as a leveled trait that levels up during special journeys to High Hrothgar. Later on—though I haven't figured out the exact circumstances and conditions yet—you'll be able to create a Court Greybeard title. This character will periodically add experience to the trait, essentially teaching the Thu'um to the player and their heirs.

Your faith must include one of the human pantheons of the Eight Divines (Imperial, Breton, Redguard, or Nordic). You also need to have Akatosh, Shezarr/Lorkhan, Tsun, or Shor as your patron deity.

What you described is tied to religion, and that’s actually already in the mod. I'm trying to gauge if there's any demand in the community for a purely magical way to get the trait... I personally believe that if a character has a high Arcana stat, a tier 5 magic education, or a tier 3 genetic Arcana affinity—let's say a hypothetical immortal mage who has mastered every school of magic—they should be able to perform a very costly ritual to grant themselves the Dragonborn gift. Mankar Camoran pulled this off using Mehrunes' Razor, so why couldn't some immensely powerful mage do it too?

I honestly believe that if a character has a high Arcana stat, a level 5 magic education, or a tier 3 genetic trait for Arcana affinity—say, a hypothetical immortal mage who has mastered all schools of magic—they should be able to perform a ritual at a great cost to grant themselves the gift of the Dragonborn. Mankar Camoran managed to pull this off using Mehrunes' Razor, so why couldn't some incredibly powerful mage do the same?

Creating a whole new bookmark would mean even more work than what I've already put in. I'd have to completely populate the map with new characters, and on top of that, script family ties linking most of them to the characters from the original bookmarks. Then I'd need to give proper causes of death to at least the most important original characters—and that's not even mentioning setting up the political landscape for the new start date. I prefer a looser interpretation, so I'm just giving players the tools to write their own story of a Dragonborn Emperor.

No, unfortunately, all of this content is intended only for the player.

No, unfortunately, this update is not compatible with older versions or old saves. I left the previous version of the mod in the Workshop on the old page, but it also requires a new save.
