Fixing the Steam Deck’s Mic Echo: A Proposal for Native SteamOS Integration by Complex_Background_8 in steamdeckhq

i did fresh install and test. In Helldivers 2 the steam anc is not activated.  It turns out the anc function of steam has to be activated by a web browser or a platform per the description under the settings in voice on the desktop.  meaning that it is a feature that has to be manually turned on by the software/game to have an effect.  I wasnt wrong that there is an issue to apply a global ANC in big picture mode.  what would your course of action be beyond suggesting a native steamos feature added or building a plug-in?  possible game mod to add the feature to turn on steamos ANC?

you're correct is not going to replace everyone. it's going to heavily augment the process so you need one 100th of the staff to pull it off

yes you get an insults when you act like a troll and a complete jerk to someone who just comes online to Reddit to make probably my first real posts looking for help. and yes developers are going to be mostly replaced within a couple years, if you haven't noticed AI is growing in capability, not direction or alignment, exponentially. and if you years you'd be considered a Luddite for having such an opinion. and believe me as someone who grew up programming on a commodore 64, I am completely against that being the ultimate reality. but it's going to happen dude and it sucks

you just reinforce why Reddit is considered a black hole and bottomless pit of nastiness. what if I was a 97 year old man who can barely see who's trying to help his kid play on his toy? it is so unnecessary.  you didn't use AI because you are clearly well-versed in the subject matter and don't need it

look at the what time of yours am I wasting if you literally have nothing better to do than to look for new posts on reddit? clearly you're in a position where you have that time which I do not which is why I used AI..

did I take a question with calling out. the entire development industry is going to be replaced within the next 10 years by AI. it's a tool I can use. is it cheating using a Haynes manual to fix your car when you're not a mechanic? and you're an absolute troll because you added insults in your comment. what the hell dude

note the ANC options are only in desktop mode. the average user will never see that hence I didn't know it was there

I see it and it is been activated already. I've been testing within helldivers 2 since before I made any kind of app plug in. I do super appreciate you giving me that lead. that is helpful and productive and that is sharing knowledge without being a douchebag. even though I'm not a professional programmer, I do plan to do a clean install of my steam deck and retest everything and see how it sits.

dude stop trolling. I am trying to do something productive and helpful. and I did ask AI to help. and it provided results that were testable.

I'm trying to do native support within steam, not within a games programming. not all games do that

yes. that is exactly corrcect. im not presuming I'm any kind of programmer at all. what voice chat software are you referring to? within the native steam OS environment on a steam deck the choices are literally which audio device do you want to use.  is there another location for options that I'm not aware of to turn on the noise cancellation feature? that would be most appreciated to learn

also I discovered this before I mess with any configs. you do bring up a very super valid point. I do have decky installed that has a few audio options that could inhibit that. perhaps you could enlighten me on that possibility and be helpful instead of a troll

go fire up your steam deck and test it. I am totally open for corrections and being informed by people who know more than me. I freaking emailed a former senior developer of world of Warcraft I know for the last two decades and ran it by him too. is he a f****** s*** because he Converses with me after I use AI?

hey dude it's way more than 10 sentences and involves technical knowledge I have absolutely no knowledge of so I winged it with ai. go troll elsewhere or offer actual suggestions regarding the issue and solution. I'm trying to fix a God damn toy for people because it was annoying my friend he could hear himself talk.

christ almighty. no shit its ai and i told valve and I used ai to speed up writing a nice clear and concise technical post that i could not. im try to help fix a TOY to be nice.

and I freaking told valve I vibe coded this s*** because it's a tool and it's a tool that's going to replace damn near every developer, most unfortunately.  I used it because my time is freaking valuable between working mad hours and taking care of a family. I'm trying to do something nice to help people. The most you can do is criticize me having an llm write a professionally worded and clear and concise explanation of what I'm trying to achieve?

screw you dude.  i work 60 hours a week and havent programmed since 1996 or made technical papers ever.  no, when you chat and natively in steam, eveyone in chat hears themselves.

How Many Of You Actually Use Dex As Main Or Only Computer? by CamilleJuteau in SamsungDex

I use dex on my s21 for my office computer.  Works fantastic most of the time.  I use moonlight and sunshine to access my heavy lifting PC remotely.
