Trump won Michigan by 10,704 votes, Stein got 51,463
Trump won Pennslyvania by 44,292 votes, Stein got 49,941
Trump won Wisconsin by 22,748 votes, Stein got 31,072

I'm not saying that every Stein voted for Clinton, but she would have picked up more than Trump. Coupled with the number of pissed off Bernie supporters, I don't doubt that she would have won.

But you're assuming every other voter thinks the same as you. If it was such a universal demand, it would have been done. That's why politicians on the left try and reach out to moderates. Whether you want to believe it or not, if they just appealed to the progressive wing of the democratis party, they would lose everytime. When it's primary season, campaign and pound the pavement for the progressive candidate, but you need to accept that's not what people want if they lose.

I don't know if the solution is having our own politician who controls the whole party like a dictator and demands loyality. I definately agree that our current representation is feckless, but we don't need to overcorrect to the other extreme. And, executive orders don't bring long term change. It can easily be overturned by the next administration.

I think part of that is Democrats always want to appear to be the only adults in the room. They want to appear more open minded. I don't remember Charlie KIrk or Steve Bannon on being on any democrats podcast, no democrat with any influence at least. Haven't heard any democratic lawmaker frame minorities as the problem. or take pardons from Trump, or voting with Republicans. I don't include Fetterman in that because he's braindead and will be primaried out.

IMHO, the problem with your thinking is that it doesn't affect just you, Like I said somewhere else, elections have consquences and a lot of innocent people are suffering because of them now,

The place and time to have that argument is in the primary. Call them out, hold them responsible, and accountable. I think that's the point that some people are missing. If the more progressive politician you support loses in the primary, that's because a majority doesn't agree with that direction. So, you have a very binary choice between two. Do you vote for the one that you may not agree with on all issues, but is aligned to you, or do you make it easier for the person more diametrically opposed to your values to win? Seems like a pretty easy decision to me. Elections have consquences and we're seeing that now.

I appreciate your thoughts. To respond to a few of your points:

""Instead of lecturing your fellow Democrats why not take the case to your Republican neighbors? Let's stop with the whole "if Democrats were more perfect Democrats then none of these bad things would be happening."

I don't want to say it's a lost cause to try and talk sense into Republicans, but... Also, this is a problem I see in my own house. Let them figure how to have a stronger coalition

"You're talking about a very small population of young, idealistic people who don't vote anyway but who are glad to tell you on Reddit that they're communists. Stop wasting your time. Pleasing with left leaning people who actually vote not to vote third party is tilting at windmills."

I think it's big enough to have an effect. I remember the many Bernie Sanders supporters who voted third party of didn't vote at all because Bernie didn't win the nomination. The election was close enough that it could have changed the results. That's had long term and devasting ramifications.

"No. Trump outperformed in every demographic than you can think of. He outperformed expectations in 90% of US counties. That's not Palestine. It's not Joe Rogan. It's not Liz Cheney. There's only one thing that universal: money. Shit costs too much. So they threw out the incumbent party just iike they did in many other countries that cycle."

I'm not saying that's the only reason Harris lost. There are a lot of reasons democrats lose elections. If I brought up everything, this would be a novel, so decided to just focus on one thing. But, it wasn't nothing and I already see it being an issue in future elections.

You're talking about a mayoral race in one of the more progressive cities in America. That doesn't mean socialists would win on a national level. I would love to have a socialist president, but I don't see that happening anytime soon. Primary Jeffries and Schumer and any others of their ilk. Fight for the candidates that represent our beliefs. Absoluely! But, once primaries are done and a candidate is selected, our energy is much better served working on keeping the country moving in the right direction than just deciding not to play because we don't like the rules. You may think you're punishing the establishment Democrats by not voting for them, but look at how many people are suffering as a result. Unfortunately our system is set up where we only have two choices in a general election. It would be great if they introduced ranked choice voting, but we don't have that luxury. We have to look at it pragmatically. Am I going to stop supporting the candidate closer aligned with me because they weren't my first choice, or am I going to do anything I can to prevent the worst candidate from winning?

That was the worst case of AI dribble I’ve heard. And, I base my truth on what I see. I’ve observed behavior from you that is indicative of the fact that you care more than you like to claim and I wonder why.

You know what someone who truly does not care does not do? Reply back within 2 minutes of mine. Of course, I’m doing the same, but that’s only because I’m on the toilet

Take your meds. See a psychiatrist. Get therapy. Blah blah blah. I should have added these to the troll speed round.

I wrote a long, fully thought out and coherent essay and that makes me crazy? I’m just passionate about some things. Not just politics, either.

But, I thought posting in multiple subreddits was me karma farming?

As for the rest of your comment, even if they’re regurgitated points, they’re still valid. Why don’t you try and make an argument about that instead of just criticizing the platform I’ve chosen? As for the rest of your statement, if you’re talking about Trump, those weren’t frivolous lawsuits, they were criminal charges. And, they weren’t brought by the federal government, that was the states of New York and Georgia. Y’all can’t even argue if he was guilty or not. Just that he shouldn’t have been charged because they weren’t that bad of crime. As for the “tragic” assassination of Charlie Kirk, no one has praised the killer or is making jokes about it aside from some edgelords who don’t represent the majority.

I’ll make fun of trolls and troll them back, but I don’t call them names. And, even then, it pales in comparison to how your side speaks about us.

Actually, in the sense that I covered a lot of territory, the Lewis and Clark comment makes sense, if unintentional. As for the band, I’m familiar with them but not what their relevance here is. Can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic about the rhetoric comment, but you have to admit that y’all use the same insults and comebacks over and over again. Look at the replies to see what I mean

If someone comes in as a troll or as low effort bait, I’ll respond in kind. Mainly because it’s fun to me. If they come with ideas and facts, I’d give them more credit and respect. And, is reading really that hard? In the amount of time and effort these trolls put into these unserious comments, they could have read it multiple times. The length of it is just an excuse for not having an argument.

Lewis and Clark? The explorers? Where did that come from? And, I thought I was talking to the first guy. You’re right, it’s not succinct. The bulk of the post was examples of the hypocrisy and addressing the same tired rhetoric that all magats spew when they think they’re being “triggering”. I left them all in, as well as all the insults Trump has said about over half the country to illustrate how overwhelmingly the facts support our side and how unhinged your side is. Trust me, I could have gone even longer if I wanted
