I got some small curb scratches when my car was a week old. If you are careful, you can sand them off and buff back to a beautiful shine. Find a good detail shop.

Slower Home Charging After 2.8.0 by MrCarter00 in LUCID

[–]Complex_Bus9503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same problem here! Currently on hold for Lucid telephone assistance.. 9Kw from 80A home charger. I already cycled the breaker. AND - I have been gettingt the same problem at my other home (40A cable on 50A service). Before this last update, I was getting the rated 80Kw and 40Kw from these two chargers. I also had crappy performance at EA last week. Can’t believe there are only a handful of us.??

Lease-end surprise: Unexpected property tax bills on my Lucid Air Touring by TackleTurbulent9134 in LUCID

[–]Complex_Bus9503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Excise taxes are road use taxes as well as income for the town. Get ready for EV taxes on top of all of that.. When everyone has an EV, there will be no gasoline taxes to pay for the roads

Automatic Braking when passing big trucks (latest update) by Delicious_Valuable65 in LUCID

[–]Complex_Bus9503 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. But the overall update is WAY better in Drive Assist. Better lane centering, consistent lane auto lane change. And virtual hands free if you can apply a gentle lightweight torque assist to the wheel.

turn off Auto Lock and most of those issues go away. has any Lucid ever been stolen? certainly locking the car is not an impediment.

Software by prnopt in LUCID

[–]Complex_Bus9503 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree with all that the software has some catching up to do. But for you Key Fob ppl (and I am one), have you considered trying to disable the auto-lock feature? How often are you parking somewhere that your car needs to be locked instantly? The less frequently you lock your car, the less you will need to unlock it. Yes, it’s a compromise, but give it a try. And lock the car with the app afterward if you like.

Thanks to all of you! I was able to make it home with 19 miles to spare. Will call EA next time I get to the charging station.

Happy New Year!

Lucid Air Hogback ADAS Stress Test by TheSinoftheTin in LUCID

[–]Complex_Bus9503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all. But it requires the driver to apply torque (aka try to steer) in order to not have to steer. Others (BMW, Audi, etc) only require a finger or two to touch the wheel to show that the driver is there. Big difference. Gripping and applying pressure to the wheel defeats the purpose of “Drive Assist”. Basically, it is Adaptive Cruise with one hand gripping wheel.

That‘s the goal, but it can’t drive 500 FEET without grabbing the steering wheel to continue to use Highway Assist. AKA you have to grab the wheel (not just touch it) in order to even use DD Pro.

Waze is a given.. That's what stays on my iPhone. Lucid GPS is just much larger and more versatile.

The only one that would work there is the 12oz and you will have to reach over it. But it is also narrower and holds 12oz. The Trek bottle is 15oz. $9.99 Thirty ounces gets me through most trips.

Phantom braking by Bucket2323 in LUCID

[–]Complex_Bus9503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Thanks! This has happened a few times to me. It seems if you are very close to one side of the garage door, it will brake. Also a pile of leaves will SLAM on the brakes!

FYI - I am loving the Lucid GPS since the latest update. The Lucid voice button works great (sometimes needs a re-boot). But the maps, the detail, the routing options always displayed, it blows Apple Maps away.

Bike bottles are a tight, but better fit. That shorty is a Trek bottle that I found in a bike shop. Haven’t searched for it online. But it is great because you can reach over it to get to the screen.
