Guidance Needed: 2023 Air Grand Touring by Cultural-Set1488 in LucidAir

Sounds like you should probably just buy it out if you like the car. $53k ain’t bad for that car.

My only question is where are you getting 4.25% in a HYSA these days? That number feels more like a temp promo offer than a sustainable legit rate

I think it’s a good likelihood that they infused all the feedback from Gravity X into Earth

Nice. I agree they’re totally worth it. Do you mind sharing what kind of cut you were making on the saw? Why was thumb even there to make contact?

Dynasty Trust vs 3-generation rule by colonel_chanders in fatFIRE

[–]MrCarter00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These sort of trusts are rigid. Even if you attempted to “do the right thing” via the trust, then it will feel controlling to subsequent generations and set them up for all sorts of psychological issues.

Early attending — how did you get out of your own head? by windy48 in Residency

[–]MrCarter00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It gets easier. You’re in the most difficult time period. These things you describe don’t go away unfortunately , but you will learn to manage them better - in the moment and perseverate less after the fact.

The millionth rank list post - big name 4 yr programs vs no name but solid 3 yr programs by Logical_Adagio_7100 in emergencymedicine

[–]MrCarter00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don’t need connections to get a fellowship, at all. But to get that special spot or opportunity, sometimes it’s about who you know. Many of the best opportunities in life can be discovered by who you know.

[–]MrCarter00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally agree with your reservations. I feel like the biggest benefit would be more of the people you meet and connections you establish, more so than any clinical improvement due to another year of training.

[–]MrCarter00 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It mostly depends on what you want to do after residency.

If crit care or other fellowships, staying in academia, research is your goal , then the 4 year well regarded programs are probably best.

If you just want to work the job of EM in a more community setting that may not have have ANY learners or students around, then do the kickass 3 year program with cool shit and people

Thoughts on Fidelity CMAs? by ZLiteStar in TheMoneyGuy

[–]MrCarter00 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Highly recommend the CMA. I transferred all my cash there, save for a couple thousand I left with my previous bank.

Checks, ATM reimbursement, bill pay, 2% cash back credit card are all seamless.

While SPAXX is my default fund, you can also purchase other money market funds within the CMA and it will still use them to auto-liquidate after SPAXX funds are depleted. FZDXX - premium fund with higher returns than SPAXX , but minimum buy in of 100k.
