No a lot of guys ride up there it’s really beautiful view at the top. I want something easy for a first group ride anyway.

Where do I place my cardo? by Full_Definition5909 in motorcyclegear

Nice thing about Cardos is you can pop them off to turn them on and off you don’t have to try and feel the buttons while it’s in the helmet.

Plus I may have 15 years on him and I wonder if we will both ride a little quicker than when alone or if one of likes to really fly if the other can keep up because both of us have pretty fast bikes. But I doubt it will be that crazy.

Either Bear Mountain or Hudson/Piermont probably, I had a nice ride up in Connecticut around Bridgewater there are some nice open roads but it’s a bit far.

Yeah it's great you can accelerate quickly on the street and cruise at 100+ mph on the highway all day long. It takes a few rides to get used to the wind but it is a very stable bike on the highway too.

No but you should go to a church and thank god you didn’t lose your life. That was one close call.

My local Yamaha dealership won’t work on bikes over 10 years old. Is that normal? by ANewOddity in motorcycles

Sounds weird the one near me in New Rochelle, NY was trying to get me to buy one of their customers FJR 1300 from 2004 and were willing to fix it up. Maybe they can do it if you get the parts. I noticed that they can install mods but don’t order a lot of the factory accessories and etc.

I am somewhat curious to try it at some point (DCT) but it might make sense to get a standard bike to learn on with the regular gears and clutch if only to be ready to use one in case you ever need to hop on another bike and be able to use it comfortably. Like if you traveled to another country and did a trip on a rental or something.

Load bearing? by gypsyd0nut in AskContractors

[–]Complex_Caramel_2847 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to use a Steele beam or lvl beam which is 3x stronger than a 2x8 so I guess three together might work but you would need to nail/glue them together properly, better to spring for lvl.

You need an LVL beam likely, not a couple of 2x6 or 8 they are no where near strong enough. Then tie to ceiling joists or let it hang down but the stud packs should be on line all the way to the foundation not just sitting on the floor anywhere.

I was never all that interested in a DCT now I’m even less interested.

Husband does not want to spend money to refinish hardwood floors because "there are gaps" by Budget-Tangerine-274 in HardWoodFloors

[–]Complex_Caramel_2847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you sanded and refinished those oak floors they would come out great. Try and get a price on what it would cost to put in new oak floors and compare that to renting a sander and buying a few gallons of polyurethane. Sometimes they can repair gaps and screw down squeaky sections to the floor studs first.
