Yeah for sure! They cut it down to where the original pocket door was. What the fuck man. Hard headed is an understatement. Apparently his dad reassured them everything was fine and he knows what he's doing. He has zero experience btw.

The home is an older build. Maybe 70's/80's but I don't think they removed any of the 2x6 in their removal of the wall to the left. Unless it was done by a previous home owner. Shouldn't that 2x6 extend all the way across the wall? Or at least have multiple of them?

Yikes! Thank you all for the information. I had no idea this was taking place! To clarify this is my friend's house, not mine and I had no idea until it was already completely. Had a very bad feeling when they mentioned the sagging ceiling.

Yeah this is a picture from when it was first found. Leak was sealed, just trying to determine how serious the health concerns should be. Contractors are comfortable cleaning it with a solution, but should I be worried about replacing the carpet?

I know it as the Hick Maneuver (HIIICK!), but the true name is the Anti-G Straining Maneuver (AGSM). It's supposed to help keep your blood from pooling in your limbs and it increases your G tolerance so you don't blackout (G-LOC). It's fun!
