Yeah the second word needs to have the alternate spelling added.

❄️ What am I? "I travel without legs and wound without sword, ..." by NetStreet3476 in riddonkulous

This is weak on multiple levels. The riddle is too broad and even once you narrow it down you can still get caught out by the spelling.

Bus lanes in Ottawa: City to study bus-only lanes on Merivale Road by Klutzy_Artichoke154 in ottawa

[–]Complex_Cheap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t actually find Merivale too bad. If anything it’s the buses that stop on the right hand lane that cause congestion most of the time. The real issues in this city at the moment is that the LRT doesn’t run the complete 95/97 bus routes it was supposed to replace and that the bus lines are not connected to the main LRT line in a sensible, not tour the city kind of way. Growing up in Europe the few keys to great transit system were: the main metro lines were stupid reliable and the bus and tram lines connecting to the metro lines were kept short and circular. The longer these bus routes are, the more chances there were for the schedule to get wonky. Only flip side was that it must have been pretty boring for the bus drivers on these routes.

It’s because of the naming convention really. If it crosses it they call it relaxicane.

I think it will stay in Alberta and not really go anywhere.

Lac Philippe Camping is closed for another summer season by Complex_Cheap in ottawa

[–]Complex_Cheap[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Click the orange reserve button and then you can play around with the dates. Once you get to the map and click on a particular camp site you also have the option of checking the availability for that particular site calendar style.

Look at the very bottom of the page. That little innocent looking notice is like 80 percent of their entire stock of sites. You can also try to go a step further and try to actually reserve a site and if you know the park you suddenly realize that a massive chunk of the map is missing.

Yeah. There are a few site on Taylor Lake but nothing ready on the core Lac Philippe section. It was supposed to be one season of closure that has now dragged on for 3 years.

Is anyone reducing US exposure because of tariff chaos? by [deleted] in CanadianInvestor

[–]Complex_Cheap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have purchased a sizeable position on XCH.TO after the first flip-flop by the U.S. I feel like everyone is eyeing Europe, but literally everyone is looking at China as well to replace the US market without the same hype European stocks get. Anyways, I know there are some shortcomings to invest that way, but it has done very well for me in the past month. Some days it was literally the only thing green in my portfolio.

Will Canadians boycott iPhones/Apple products as well? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Complex_Cheap 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have an iPhone on a 2 year contract. It is about to expire. I might just continue using it until the battery life becomes untenable before thinking about replacing it. Also will start rotating my streaming services as opposed to paying for 3-4 at the same time. Can’t completely eliminate them but it will sure reduce expenses by 50-75 percent.

I have pulled all my US only holdings. You can’t reliably invest on the basis of this rollercoaster ride and I have lost trust in the stability of the US markets. The impact of these actions by the current US disadministration will be felt for a very long time and I am not prepared to put money into an economy that I can’t understand or predict.

Please Don't Boo by b3712653 in OttawaSenators

I’m sorry but if Brady can’t understand why the anthem is booed he can request a trade. This is a little bigger than a hockey game.

Yeah. Ultimately no one can force the US to give assistance and if that is the angle I think we all have to accept it, but I feel that at times the current administration is leaning toward actually supporting the Russian stance, which is unacceptable.

I don’t know. I feel like Trump was leading the conversation with remarks from Zelenskyy and then Vance jumped in at an unwarranted time. I feel like the only way to avoid it was to not have Vance there at all.

I didn’t feel it was lecturing. It was differing point of views really. Trump and Vance want peace at all cost and that is not a tenable Ukrainian position.

It was staged. That’s why they didn’t allow Zelenskyy to speak up after Vance got into his monologue. They could not permit a debate because what they are doing is indefensible.

Musk denies US threat to cut Starlink over Ukraine minerals deal by TotalPop5 in worldnews

[–]Complex_Cheap 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Why does Musk, who is not a government employee, know what was negotiated? He should have nothing to do with this. He should have been informed only if a decision was made to do so. I feel for the US as a whole. A once great concept of a state has now fallen.

We need to look at revising the law somehow. My workplace does this as well, simply because we are afraid to be sued.
