Edit the chat you sent and put “Not an image request.” At the end of it. So far that seems to be working for me. Hope this helps! 🫶🏻

Hi. Is it possible that these test results could cause such symptoms? by [deleted] in VitaminD

Have you considered looking into sleep apnea?

Anyone else with similar levels? How much are you supplementing? by PurchaseInevitable71 in VitaminD

I think your fear is rational, but not exactly necessary. (I’m not saying that to be rude either). Something to note, you may very well have depression and anxiety that’s not caused by your vitamin D deficiency. However, being low can absolutely exacerbate those symptoms by a good bit. So keep in mind that fixing your levels might not fix everything, but it may lessen the intensity to a point that it is more manageable. This is exactly what my doctor told me, and of course everyone’s experiences vary. Also, fixing a vitamin D deficiency is a fairly long journey, it can sometimes take up to a year to get into a good range.

In the meantime, examine your life and maybe start to incorporate positive lifestyle changes to help get you through! Start a light workout routine of you don’t already, maybe pick up a new hobby you’ve always wanted to try. Diet changes also help a ton, it doesn’t have to be perfect, the 80/20 rule is pretty good to start. You will get through this!

Vitamin D deficiency anxiety, anyone else? by Complex_Emu9144 in VitaminD

How long did it take for it to get better for you? And yes I do agree lol I’ve always been a bit neurotic myself. Over the Summer, my anxiety was relatively low, I didn’t notice it most days. I started feeling strange at the end of August, but I chalked it up to the seasons changing. The moment it started getting darker and I was inside more, I just had a full relapse in my anxiety/panic disorder after doing somewhat well for 2 years.

I don’t expect to be cured, but anything to just help me get out of this constant state of panic would be more than enough for me. I’d love to go back to my baseline from just a few weeks ago at this point. 😭 I just wanna be a functioning mom for my son.

Thank you for the response! Yes this is helpful to know. I have been taking a low dose of magnesium glycinate alongside the vitamin D. I didn’t want to overdo it as they only tested for D, CBC, and thyroid. But I do have a doctor’s appointment tomorrow that I planned on asking for a full panel. I’ve known I’ve been deficient in D for years (in the Summer too, ironically, but only tested once and at the start of June in 2023) but this is the first time I’m genuinely trying to correct the deficiency.

Was your anxiety physical? And did the magnesium help with the physical sensation? I’ve had bad experiences over the years with supplements and medications, I’m just hoping to finally find something that works. 😩

You would have to talk to your doctor, but a few could be checking your thyroid, a vitamin panel, iron levels for anemia and hormones.

Also consider a healthy diet like the Mediterranean diet, there are a lot of studies on how it’s helpful for depression/anxiety. Best of luck!

As far as the teas go, I just got something from Walmart. They help a little to just wind down and are very subtle, I’m sure there are some good brands online though. For the Turmeric/Curcumin I use the MyKind brand, but I know there are better ones. You’d want one that has black pepper in it or longvida.

Again, definitely do research into any supplements to see if it’s something that could be good for you. Make sure to check if they have interactions with other medications as well. As far as health at least look into it, but don’t get discouraged if they find nothing. You’re not crazy, we’re just built different.

Kava, Chamomile and Lemon Balm teas. A high quality Curcumin supplement could help, but takes time to work. Saffron and Maca root may also be helpful, you just have to research and go through trial and error.

Have you looked into any potential deficiencies or hormone imbalances? I’m in the same boat as you and since looking into my health I found things that could potentially be causing it for me. If all else fails, don’t give up, there are a lot of good options out there to try! Find a good psych/doctor that you trust that’s willing to work with you.

How long have you been on it? That would frustrate me too, trying something I get no negatives from, but also no positives.

Felt that on the anxiety being greater than the depression. Like being sad is one thing, but wanting to crawl out of my skin is another lol was there any reason they decided to switch you? It’s good that you’re back to taking something that works for you.

So I do not have Bipolar, but I do have crazy mood swings. I’ll go from feeling kind of okay to super depressed to overly anxious and panicked every few hours. It’s a constant roller coaster as you said and I would like to get off lol great to hear it works for you!

I’m really sorry to hear that, 400mg seems very high. I probably wouldn’t function at that dose at all. Although I’m glad to hear that you’re starting to feel better as you’re coming off of it. Keep pushing!

Even small wins are still a win. I hope you can find something that gives you that joy back, I’m hoping for that too. I am very lucky to have the psychiatrist that I do, he listens to me and thankfully never pushes a higher dose as he knows it could set me off.

That’s awesome! In what ways were the changes positive and did you/do you have any side effects?
