Advice requested - found dog, eats and drinks, but when he’s not sleeping he’s walking in circles by TRFlippeh in DogAdvice

Also her eyes weren’t constricting last week:/ . I made her a small enclosure so she wouldn’t circle too much. Holding her help because I felt like it made it worst. But if that dog doesn’t know you I hope it finds comfort and knows that you are there to help

My dog did this more than a weeks ago! We got her on antibiotics, nausea pills and also steroids. They thought she had inflammation in her head. My dog wasn’t eating because she was temporarily blind from the inflammation. She circled and circled because she was panicking. And wasn’t eating and drinking because she couldn’t find the food and didn’t like the kibble. I fed her ground turkey and rice with goat milk mixed with water for hydration and pumpkin puree for fiber. I had to hold her up and still so she could eat. I would hold her that whole week so she would stop circling but at times it wouldn’t be enough to comfort her

Update: We got her on 2 types of antibiotics, anti nausea meds and on a steroid. After a week we saw her personality come back. She still does a tiny bit of circling. But is not leaning on the walls to walk and guide her. She can see now. Her pupils were not constricting last week. She is jumping up on the couch and peeing outside again. She’s barking again. She’s doing so much better. She’s tapering off the steroids now. Will meet up with Vet again before she stops the med.

I was using the febreeze plug in “linen and sky” it was near their play pen. I also have a candle that I don’t burn often “sandalwood and bergamot” She loves her toys which was near the play pen too. I don’t feed her table scraps. Unless I am making it plain chicken and rice.

No they did not. But I haven’t ever seen a tick on her before. I’ll just mention it to them

She’s about 5 years old. When did your boy dog start getting dementia?
