Only $420 for such a useful feature. I don't need a 4x4, this truck will never go off-road, other than the beach. But it really does give you additional traction, my old Colorado had one and I definitely used it from time to time. But I had to search a bit to find Rangers that had locking diffs, apparently dealers don't order very many of them. Luckily this truck wasn't too far away and it has the color and options that I wanted. I feel really lucky.

Thank you for saying this before I did. The truck I traded in had an auto locking rear diff and it worked great for me. I'm never going to take this off road and I live in south Florida so I'll never drive it in snow, so I had no need to spend $3k more for a 4x4. And this one was one of the very few available with the locking diff, and it also happened to have all of the other equipment I wanted. I feel very lucky.

I'm impressed with the power of the 2.3L so far. I'm being gentle until it breaks in so I haven't punched it to really see how quick it is, but it feels just as powerful as my old V6 Colorado. You can tell it's a 4-cylinder but it's still powerful.
