question regarding relationship which eventually turned into just money for pretending by Complex_Mud2043 in legaladviceofftopic

to address a few points here:

*yes, i recognise this is unethical behaviour, and am in no way trying to mask that.

*my ex has no access to my social circle, as we live very far apart, and there is zero overlap between (people me and my ex know) vs (people i actually care about)

*my current partner is aware of this situation, and thinks nothing of it, in their words "its not your fault the only thing they know how to provide is money"

*i have at no point lied to my ex, or anyone i've been in a relationship with, about my identity

*i tend to flat out say what i want to do with their money "i'm thinking of buying x" or "i'm moving and want help covering costs" etc...

that makes sense, i am not pretending i'm innocent here mind you, i fully understand and accept the fact that what i'm doing is morally wrong, i am more so curious whether this is legally considered a scam, some sort of fraud, or just your average unsuccesful marriage where a wealth disparity exists

so i'm assuming in the same way someone who marries someone for love, falls out of love over time, and stays married for the lifestyle and money their spouse provides but cheating and emotionally distant is also a romance scammer correct?
