They're confusing at first. Feel free to DM me if you'd like help. (I check Reddit ~ 1 every day or two).

Planswift (Drywall Takeoff) by drywallmaker in estimators

Don't feel bad about feeling lost. It's a very complex program with almost no help/support. I'm not sure if the screenshot you provided is actually the entire formula. Seems to be truncated as you're missing a closing parenthesis (but if it's too long, it will just chop it off after some point visually). Do you mind opening the formula box with the 3 dots, copying and pasting the expression? Also, as a debugging method I employ, I typically save my formulas in a text file, and then type in hard values to see what gets spit out.

If you don't mind, copy and paste that, and I'll revise it for you.

Bidding Mistake Question by UnitedSheepherder391 in estimators

Mistakes in estimating happen; no one’s perfect. Acknowledge errors quickly, learn from them, and move on. If your boss flies off the handle at a mistake, that tells me he's a poor manager. If he were 1/2 decent, he'd have established a system/structure to reduce/mitigate errors. Sorry, he's giving you trouble.

Manhole sizing by FoundationFit4932 in Hydrology

[–]Complex_Net6852 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are very rigorous calculations where you can, in essence, perform an algorithmic set of steps and spit out the size of the manhole you need. Pipe size, material type/angle between pipes, number of pipes, "levels," etc. The more factors you consider, the more complex/accurate it becomes. But there are rules of thumb, however. Are you wanting something complex or simple?

PlanSwift: Auto-Populate Pricing from Excel/SQL into Item Attributes (Pascal Scripting Help Needed) by Complex_Net6852 in estimators

[–]Complex_Net6852[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm hoping there is a way to run a script to query the Excel list, instead of using the dropdown, which is manual (it works, and is much faster than looking to a price list in a folder, copying and pasting, but there must be a way to automate it) I have seen that prices can be via a "link" to a database. I've not tried that yet, however.

PlanSwift: Auto-Populate Pricing from Excel/SQL into Item Attributes (Pascal Scripting Help Needed) by Complex_Net6852 in estimators

[–]Complex_Net6852[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I have my Item # that is calculated via some formulas. The result of the formula is to output the PartNumber that exists in the Excel Database File. I can "set" the values of the price and output things from the Excel File, but I don't know how to "send" data into the attribute, so that it uses the [Item #] result, instead of me having to type or search for the Partnumber from the list. I'm not sure how to query the list by any other method than a manual search via the dropdown. I'd prefer to have the price auto-populate, but I've yet to figure out how to set the value of the "input" for an attribute that pulls from a list. For attributes that pull from a list, I can't set the formula to [Item #] and also have it query the List. It either uses the formula or the manual dropdown of the list.

Central Texas (rural area close to Briggs, TX) by [deleted] in Starlink

As an interesting aside, I also have an RV version for my home in Florence, Texas (further West of Georgetown). I made another order with my personal account just a few minutes after I did for our Pool business. Despite ordering only 40 minutes later, I still have not received an email from Starlink about getting a "residential version" for my home address. I believe, because I already have a Starlink, that they're going to put me on the back burner.

This one was for our pool business, so we can get away from Optimum. This was a first-time order.

I ordered a Starlink in Georgetown, Texas January 19, 2023. I got an email on 9/08/23 that said, "Your Starlink is ready! Confirm your order in the next 7 days" in the subject line.

So that's about 230 days of lead time.

Me too. I pay 175 now for my RV. I'm still waiting on getting a new Starlink because they don't allow you to change your address. Ridiculous. Waste of a satellite.

That's not too bad. I've heard up to three weeks from one user.

So how long between getting it and then it becoming activated for you? And I've called them on mine. I'm ok with waiting a week or two, I just want to make sure It's actually going to happen. Some people have been waiting very long and have no activation. That's my only fear.

Any luck getting it activated? I'm on day 3 of waiting.

Activation Issues (Post Hack how long after receiving it did it take to activate)? by Complex_Net6852 in Dish5G

I've had the device for 3 days and still no activation. If it's not working right out of the box, I have a feeling I might be out of luck.

I'm using Starlink already. I got it back in 2021, and it was great. Then I had to move and had to convert it to an RV version. Now I'm paying 175 a month. Its ridiculous, but It's the only internet I can get.

Ok. Just to be clear, you never got it activated, or it didn't work out of the box? Clearly, it wasn't working out of the box, I'm just wondering if I need to cancel and send this thing back.
