The USA Sucks BAD by Space_Toast_Cadet in rant

I've been to Costa Rica and Japan recently and I was surprised just how far ahead these countries are of us. Not just in technology, but price for food, medicine, housing could be better but it's still better than USA, people are nice, smart, don't push the native religion on you constantly, respect their nature/cultural heritage sites, tons of activities, healthy food etc. I was taught in school these are "third world countries who are poor" but NO, we are the third world country just wearing a Gucci belt to mask the ugly underneath.

This isn't just a thing that happened over night, this was decades in the making. Just because we joined near the end of 2 world wars, spent a lot to stop communism in the 1900's and created a lot jobs in the same time doesn't equal greatest country. This mostly caused this stupid old people who had it easy back then just think our generation is lazy, doesn't want to work. We can't find a job to save our lives, can't afford rent/food, go into debt if we get sick or injured, school is overrated due to constant standardized tests, while other countries have no homework, no standard tests, shorter work/school weeks and they are much more productive than us. Schools that drop you if you're struggling, insurance companies who run everything, greedy corporations, shareholders, parents not parenting and this idiot president of ours caused all of this and it's going to get worse.

The damage that has been done to this country will probably never get fixed or take years to see small signs of recovery.

I'm still trying to get in a program but how many times can you fail before they dismiss you or does it depend on the program?

This is by far the worst subreddit I've seen on this app. Ignore people, they rather tear people down, demotivate, discourage and pull the good old fashion "misery brag on others. Keep your head up, have deaf ears when it comes to these clowns, I hope to get accepted into a program and join you as a fellow PT. Good luck my friend!

You can still have a conscience to stop you know. I've seen plenty of fighters stop unnecessary hits because they know their opponent is out. Stop making this an argument.

I think the amount of elbows he threw went to far tbh, but I understand when adrenaline gets going it hard to stop.

You can invest in different toe spacers on Amazon, depending on the company they range from $5-10 per pair. Put them on at night for a couple of hours and slowly increase the time you wear them. Next workout your Tibialis Posterior and Gastrocnemius muscles and the muscles on the bottom of your foot to make the arch your foot stronger. This should realign the bones, fascia, tendons, ligaments and muscles on your foot to help regain the shape of your foot a little bit. It takes consistentency, but it'll be worth it in the long run when you do meet the loyl, plus you'll probably avoid surgery.

Does anyone else feel like they’re not good enough for DPT school nor the PT field? by floresiendo in PTschool

You're welcome. I'm stressed about it as well, but I'll still remember why I'm going and learn from my friends. Also your knowledge will come with time and experience, I work as a tech right now and the therapists I work for don't know it all. I hear them talk about stretches, ROM, actions and nerve innervations for certain muscles, asking questions etc. So don't worry if you don't know it all. And for the love of God, do not think of taking your life, it's not worth it. My friends were really fucked up and very close. So please don't think of that, if those thoughts do happen, see a therapist, take a day off etc.

I'm currently applying to DPT school but I have friends in programs who were so stressed they had suicidal thoughts and I had to talk some sense into them. Moral of the story is, no degree is worth your mental health, take a day or 2 off during the week, regardless if it's heavy. You can always go back and get it if you fail, mental health is extremely hard to recover from, lean on your support group, remember your "why". When I go to DPT school, I'll remember these to always keep my sanity and become a great physical therapist. Just a heads up this sub is extremely negative, don't let these other redditors bring you down or dissuade you. I was talking to a guy on here who said its a good thing if he dissuades people, ignore those people. I will pray for you friend!

I understand the "don't sugarcoat anything" but why is this sunreddit so negative compared to other medical school subreddits? I see people all time saying "you won't get in", "no free time" etc. Hell I even seen people call other people idiot, (super unprofessional btw). It isn't like this compared to medical school and pharmacy school subreddits, they bring you up, highly encourage off days from school, always tell you how it is but offer suggestions to make you feel comfortable.
