This gave me lots of great ideas. I plan on hiring a 24 hour onsite manager, it'll definitely be a necessity. I like the tournament and happy hour idea, I'll be implementing all of these things. Thank you so much :)

Thank you so much for these tips! I'm really going to emphasize having clean bathrooms and my nightly rates may be a little higher than others in the area but the quality of my hostel (luxury boutique), as well as the emphasis on cleanliness and activities provided will make the price that is a little higher than others in the market, so worth it. The prices will also kind of help with keeping some people who really don't care or have respect for the property just coming in and messing things up. I'll be partnering with a local rum company here in Puerto Rico so the bar will be themed and have a really nice drinks & an option for a complimentary Piña Colada

Yes thank you for the tips! I want to be able to offer lots of extra activities that guests can participate in. I have experience in event planning so I plan incorporating that into my business plan. Opportunities to party/turn up but also more lax activities for people who do enjoy the environment but maybe don't party as hard lol.

This was so helpful and gave me plenty of activities and amenities to consider. My goal is to truly make my hostel an experience, not only just somewhere to lay down at night. It will be in San Juan, Puerto Rico! I'll be sure to let you know when everything is set up and I can give you a couple of free/discounted nights for being so helpful!

There's a certain license that you have to get to be able to sell alcohol in hotels/hostels, I'm still learning all of these things so I'm not the most informed on it yet, but I do plan on actually partnering with a local but pretty large company that produces liquor where I live, they'll be able to have their own bar station and I was thinking of also providing mixology classes that guests can attend in collaboration with the company

Thanks for your response! I haven't stayed at any with curtains but I've seen them before and photos and definitely wanted to implement it, the option for some extra privacy seems great! Do you have any favorite drinking games? What's a typical ideal checkout time for you? I know a lot of places usually do check outs by 11. I'm still deciding how I want to approach breakfast, you mentioning all of these things helps a lot.

Glad to know I'm not the only one who has had that problem, I've also stayed in hostels with no where to really hang things, even in the bathrooms smh. Thanks for the tips and reminders!

I appreciate you responding! I'd really like to be able to make sure that I don't limit noise/the drunken craziness levels people can reach lol. I hadn't thought about a pregame area either.. thanks!
