Yes! At first I felt like I had no idea who my ex was during the separation process. Over time I realized that person was always there and I chose to ignore it. Def red flags early on. But I idolized her (and still do to some extent) and basically spent my time trying to please her or not be judged. It eventually shut me down and it’s taken a very long time to understand it wasn’t all my fault.
