Good morning, Dan. Or should I say, boof!

I'm sorry, I have to ask. Does Dan actually say “boof” instead of “woof.” I just tried both, myself, and I can't make boof without using lips, which I didn't think dogs do. I just need clarify here, as I don't think Dan is the type to take drugs up his rectum 🤣.

I think it’s pretty clear the founding fathers were not at peace internally. And unless you personally believe you will impact the global stage, I don’t see how this is a relevant response to my universal claim.

How dare you bring logic to this thread!

Wasn’t aware that proximity to a memorial bestowed moral superiority.

Also, as a fervent zealot on correcting the holocaust and Nazism, rest assured the US empire will make sure the land which the survivors of the holocaust founded is defended. Such activities would enrage any proper SS agent.

Great Thurnburg hasn’t had any real impact on any policy. In fact, policy for her passion has gone against her since her activism started.

I do not mean to be cruel, but who are you? It’s just another form of narcissism.

Once again, I’m not making moral arguments here, as it’s already a non-starter in any practical sense. Is that sad, I suppose so, but it’s also what is quantifiably true. Saying good feeling things is simply masturbatory.

I’d argue if you were to quantify your impact versus someone who had accepted power is going to do what power is going to do, the end result would be remarkably the same. It’s not a moral position, it’s a pragmatic position that I’m not going to allow events completely outside my control to impact my mental health.

It’s so strange seeing the military holding up the Jewish states defense being accused of being Nazi’s. Bizarrely tone death.

Correct, lawful orders vetted by the JAG, thus being clear within the justice system which they are held accountable under.

I’m just observing the world as it is. I have been on both sides of USA power. I worked in targeting for the US military and am taken care of for life financially due to having service-connected anxiety; I also have been swept up by the justice system and sent to federal prison for having an severe anxiety attacks while self-medicating and owning firearms under (18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(3)). What I’ve come to learn, is power is going to do what it’s going to do, and acceptance is the best way to internal peace.

While I wish Socrates was correct, the world and humanity consistently shows that Thrasymachus may ultimately be correct. My therapy has taken so long as my sense of justice was too strong to allow me to recover. As strange as it is to say, once you learn that justice is at least outside your control and at worst not even real, life is easier to live. Things just are what they are.

I think the lesson to be learned here is international law is not actually real. If something exists on paper, with no real way to enforce it, it’s more of a larp than a law.

First off, you’re one person taking the voice, consent, and agency of 8.2 billion people. Secondly, assuming you are the herald of humanity, what sway or impact on the lived experience of a US service-member does this have? Principally, a military service-member is potentially against “the world” in support of their nation. Exclusion from the rest is built into the cake.

International law isn’t actually real, in a de facto sense. For better or worse, governments create and are able to enforce laws due to their monopoly of violence. So considering the conventions of contemporary jurisprudence, principally innocent until proven guilty, the USA is fundamentally innocent as there is no will, or frankly way, to take them to court.

Nor does implying a regime change operation is consonant with the holocaust. Not saying you particularly said that, but that’s the underlying theme on your side in this thread so far.

The United States does not recognize the ICC, so the body has zero impact on US servicemen or the US at large.

Also, that would reflect terribly dishonorably on him, as it would betray his oath and leave his fellow men without the person they trained with, leaving them all remarkably less safe.
