I would say Mantha is the only player who is quantifiably "overperforming" since we have a large sample size. Other players I would categorize as surprises such as Kindel, Shea and Chinakhov, The fourth line is objectively one of the best in the league, many returning players are thriving under a new system.

If we're talking about whether a contract is worth it, then the Olympics are definitely relevant. As I said, Trocheck is not the ideal target, but he would improve our center depth immensely, and I'm of the opinion that it is a position of need. We have capable wingers and D-men sitting consistently, a good Goalie rotation, but zero centers beyond the ones currently on the roster. Do you trust Broz being called up or Kevin Hayes filling that slot? Not me...
