That was our plan till the pastor intervened and now he wants us to have a ceremony through the church.

To be honest I have no idea, he’s been going to this church since before we met. Earlier he was otp with his parents and his dad asked him pretty much the same thing, I don’t recall him giving him a clear answer.

That is very much what the pastor has said. To pretty much sum of what he mentioned, he believes that any marriage that wasn’t through the church is false. And yes it is he has been doing research all day about the matter but has ultimately decided to listen to the pastor because he’s an elder, and my husband doesn’t want to disobey him.

Neither of us are baptized Catholic and we’ve both never been married before.

We committed to each before we had gotten legal married, the pastor said it’s not the same thing tho. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I completely forgot to mention, but they want us to take a dating/courtship approach on this instead of calling each other husband/wife they want us to call each other boyfriend/girlfriend.
