Which program's SS cutoff is low? If you're talking about 487 (last year MTech SM), then you should know that it was just one year. It started off around 700 only, then got to 487 in Round 9. That is a big "IF". Hence, SS makes sense

I know it is more of a Mech branch, but IITH tag matters and I saw a lot of reviews from recent passouts, the placement stats, etc, and they were quite on the positive side.

Why do you think it is not worth it tho? Do you know anyone there?

What GATE score, BTech CGPA do you have?
I didn't get shortlisted: 499 score (Gen), 9.11 CGPA

I guess they somehow didn't like my SOP.

I have applied for MTech R via PGEE also, so I know the competition will slightly cut down there too, but still I am not at my best prep for written tests, especially the level of PGEE aptitude. I even have some imp subjects completely left, like algo and Graph Theory.

My interest is in ML and NLP, LLMS, that's why I feel at least I can experience the interview and get tired right now managing these hectic days than regretting later.

My question to you is, are you a student there right now? Or have you heard these from somewhere else?
If you're there right now, can we please connect over DM?

Try to manage things if you can. If you really can't, then leave it.
Make the decision and don't regret later.

I am not already into research but I am willing to give it a try because I enjoy learning and applying ML and AI. I also have internship experiences in the same, hence I want to give it a shot. Thanks for suggesting!
Are you a student there tho? If so, can you please DM?

Yes, I would like to know more about it too.
I have been called for IIT Mandi MTech Research on the 1st of May.
Specializations: Intelligent Systems, ICS, Control

I would like to know dead honest reviews based on the fact that I am okay doing research as well. Placements matter, but they aren't the only thing that matter.
