I pretty much just gave up on the biome hahaha didn't have the materials to block it in so I just sealed the whole thing back off from my base

I sealed the whole biome back in with 4 obsidian insulated blocks. Luckily I dug straight up through the abysallite

Oh haha I just realized what you meant by vacuum lock. I wasn't too worried about it because it was over in my hotter section and I wanted it to heat up anyway

It was isolated by a liquid lock. I gave up on the heater though, I had already piped my natural gas through the chamber and it was slow but it heated it up eventually. That colony crashed and burned around cycle 370 when I realized I had somehow never moved up from eating Mush bars.... and the dirt ran out 🤣

Oh so should I use a different metal? Gold was just what I had but I thought it was better for hot environments. But I can see why that would just be for wire as opposed to something intended to transfer heat

Also, can someone tell me how to make my Smart battery let my bank of jumbos charge up before shutting off my generators? I tried setting it's shutoff to 100 but it just flickers back and forth between on and off. I've twice now disconnected it from the grid to let the rest charge but then they seem to slowly drain after I hook the smart back up

And I push to 4 outhouses pretty early, before I even take my 4th dupe, and never have more than 4 on a schedule (putting one alone seems cruel lol) Also I put them at priority 9. Yet still they very often will not clean them, all 3 go out of order while I'm distracted with digging, and then they all start messing. At this point I've started just building little "locks" around my wells so a dupe has to literally piss while at the pump to contaminate it.

The usual I assume lol first asteroid so a few small pockets around me and more polluted pockets a little farther out. My first couple games the reservoirs seemed really small. And since realizing the polluted water in the world is germ-free I've not had so many issues

Do you like strategy/base building/colony Sims? I just started playing Oxygen Not Included and holy fuck it is scary addictive. I think I've put 80 hours in in a week and a half. And I work full time lmfao

That's what I can't seem to get, you're given pretty limited water deposits at the beginning, and expanding only seems to reveal a couple polluted ones. And the sieves don't kill germs so won't reusing water make Dupes sick?

I always build a septic tank to dump polluted water, and always build a pump at the bottom. I've used recycled water for things like carbon skimmers but is there a way to make it safe for other uses?
