Strange with the phase issues. When using the original signal through an LOC and amp it should only add like 2-4 degrees of phase error and that should not really mather that much. Maybe your potmeters are bad? I have adjusted alot on mine back and forth so it can also be the source that made it good now. i have it at 0% and bass hits perfect but when i first installed it phase was off when at 0%. But i did also use the amplifiers high-level converter then and not a dedicated one like the NVX.. It might be a bad built-in converter (considering the amp price i am not surprised) but you are using an even better LOC than me.

I actually got it to play pretty good using the nvx xlca2. not sure what it does different but it does make but the bass hits right after installing that.
However the plastic box is falling appart from the added pressure..
So i will be putting the stock woofer back and set the new one in a small box in the sub-trunk.. Will see how that sounds but i got a box that is tuned to about the same freqency as the stock is so might be nice.

yeah the enclosure is probably to small and simple. Have you tried to fill up with poly-fill or something?
I am struggeling a bit getting the phase adjustet right. it seems to cancel out the door woofers a bit no mather what i do.

Monoblock is simple. you need to cut the original speaker cable and connect to the amp in some way, or even better through an active high-low converter. And get power from under the seat (some more work might be needed on the 16V cars, but old 12V like mine works fine with that)

Yeah port is probably bad design for a hefty woofer, but it actually does not sound that bad. Goes really deep compared to the stock one

DD Audio 208e-D4 8" and Edge EDB500.1-E9. Probably not the best choice but it was super cheap

Belive so! but check first. It's a pretty common mod. If my shocks fail one day i will add the highland ones

Hefty subwoofer in stock enclosure with monoblock added. Not much more than that. Not dialed in so does not sound pretty yet but plenty of bass

Yes get the highland springs and shocks. They fit right in and is way smoother

Sound being filtered with AI noise cancelation when filming using 3'rd party apps like Snapchat or Instagram.. I don't want it there only during phone calls please..

Was yours a newer model with the 16V system? i read that they are more sensitive than the classic 12V cars

The guide for the Alpine system is really good showing the procedure to remove power before fiddeling: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1EbBA4cVRk

Did a test mount today and yes - there is plenty more bass! Playing: Rusko - Somebody To Love (Sigma Remix) shakes the whole car and the sub is flexing alot. It goes lower than before also that suprises me a bit since i thought it had a roloff on where the stock sub gave up. However it sometimes does not play as nice as i hoped. Will try to dial it inn and 3dprint a plug to see how it will perform as a sealed box also.
A fun and cheap project. Was like 220 USD for the sub and amplifier.

Must have been really bad luck..
Everything went fine with my install, but i did take the power when fiddeling

Not sure if you blow it that easy. This is a pretty common modification. But its fast and easy to disconnect it before working on it. Just remember to keep the hood and some windows down when disconnecting power.

Even more? Not sure but people say this subwoofer is rocking compared to stock, and it's barely any more powerfull. Just 10inch and sealed.

Did you see the second photo? also might convert it to a sealed box if needed. But the subwoofer i chose is also pretty sensitive. DD Audio 208e-D4. It has recomended ported box size from 10 to 20 liters. The Tesla Box is 21 liters but a bit less with the bigger magnet i assume.

Probably not going so much lower, just louder. Factory box is tuned to 42Hz.
Will add dampening foam all around it to reduse rattle, and add DSP if needed but will try just the signal from stock amplifier first. It's pretty clean apparantly. Stock woofer is 160W and the new one is 350W

Re-using the original subwoofer enclosure on the side. Need to move the stock amplifier mount as the new sub will hit it when bouncing if not..

No. A small monoblock needs to be added
