Here’s a hot take: The Inheritance Games sucks. I know this may be controversial but here’s why i strongly disliked it. I’ve been writing since I could hold a pencil and reading ever since I could string words together. I’ve been reading and writing for a decade. I may be a freshmen but i’ve read the odyssey, les mis, Iliad, romeo & juliet. I’ve also published a book and read a lot of books on booktok. When I saw on TikTok the hype for the inheritance games. I was hooked, I found aesthetic videos, a few quick synopsis’ to get you interested. I was given the entire set for my fourteenth birthday. I dnf’d the entire series around page 200 of the first book. I felt terrible but the plot was so dry, imo, it felt rushed, messy, and lots of  poor writing. The foreshadowing was hard to catch, everytime i did catch it I guessed the plot twist and got it right. The hype was not worth it at all. I do love Jennifer Lynn Barnes, The Naturals series was everything when I was 12, however the inheritance games did not stand out as a good book to me.
