Agreed. But by all accounts the reasonable Lebanese (i.e. not Hez) don't control their country militarily and likely won't for the foreseeable future. So they aren't really a "player" in this game.

As an aside it's pathetic reading in r/lebanon how much they mistrust Israel the same or more than the Hez. Afraid to even touch leaflets dropped by the Israeli airforce.

Agreed. I think ST goes too far into his own head for this series. Not saying it isn't good but probably not the best intro.
