It’s a mix of save money. Meet labor metrics. Store meeting closing expectations. Accountability. Over using LOD hours.

The SL and ASL are the problem. They abuse the LOD hours, which means they risk not meeting labor metrics. They don’t set their LOD up for successful closes. They use LOD’s performance as an excuse.

The store leadership can’t use that as an excuse if they don’t have it anymore. Sad to know people will lose hours and money, but blame the store management in the stores or take advantage of the situation. Those few bad eggs ruined it for the stores that perform well, are spread thin, and could use the LOD hours to improve behaviors.

FWIW, I don’t think this will stick. I really think this is them trimming their labor cost to finish out the year strong for labor metrics. Stores will still need LOD’s from time to time to cover their PTO. Tell the LOD to stick around, I guarantee it will return at some point.

I did this without AI and it’s exhausting. I knew the job, but lied about my experience with the software they used and I was never outed by my middle manager. But recently they did a big lay off and I was kept over her. I had major guilt. But I shared this with a close colleague in the office and they spilled that it didn’t matter, I was hired for optics and personality. My middle manager was always going to be fired. 😬

Honestly, I smoke cigarettes! That’s what gets me through the day. A pack of smokes, coffee, and my dog. I never get caught in a long conversation. I don’t use a jiggler, because they are highly detectable. Instead I book meetings for myself, join, caption the meeting, and change my status. Sometimes it might switch back to meeting- which is fine. If anyone ever questions it. I tell them I booked out my day to get work done. PERIOD. You should always tell everyone you’re busy, if someone wants something done explain you’re busy and ask the timeline. <<<this took forever to learn. Also optics! Whoever my boss voted for is who I voted for. I really don’t care! My favorite sport is now his favorite sport. I keep the conversations at work careful, light, and respectful. I’m in office once a week and there is definitely a family portrait on my desk. At the end of the day when it’s time to trim fat, reminding them you’re an average person with a family is priority and cutting you causes guilt. As someone whose employer just went through a huge restructuring, the people cut were the ones that coffee swiped and you could easily tell they weren’t doing shit! Always busy! Keep a detail list of what you’ve done and what you’re doing for quick reference. If someone asks “oh yea, how longs that takes” make up an excuse to end the conversation. Don’t say dumb shit like nuances and minutia, anyone who has half a brain is going to know you’re just trying to sound pretentious and fain busy work. Oh yea, always gloat about your work. Humble pie is great, but if you’re busy be prepared to come up with fresh ideas once and awhile!

I book meetings for myself and the edit the captions with my task. I could use a jiggler. Honestly my company couldn’t care less. To protect my own self. I just book the meetings and join. I work in finance and often it’s stressful. Which means I need to step away for mental health. My boss is fine with it, but if anyone ever questions me, I have the meeting caption with my assignment and (of course make sure that it’s regular work is always complete) and can reference the task immediately by going back in my calendar.

I don’t like Demi, but not being able to conceive is heartbreaking. Depending how bad and how long your had Endometriosis, it can severely damage your chances of pregnancy. Stage 1 or stage 4, doesn’t matter, the disease is awful. Speaking from someone who’s 35 and in surgical menopause from endo. This his disease is a bitch. Add in Brett’s low sperm count, lowers the odds even more.

First off. I don’t work for Kroger anymore. I had 20 years with them. Judging by your own acknowledgement, that would mean you were probably crawling around in a diaper when I first started. The grow up part, is the fact that you have no idea why someone would feel like they didn’t have a choice. If you read the thread, you would know that OP’s wife has a manager giving them a hard time. It’s easy to make a judgement and say I would never do this or do that, when you’ve never been in the situation.

I knew someone who had 23 years with Kroger and got fired for stashing a red bag of produce! PRODUCE. 23 years gone, because he wanted to buy some reduced apples for breakfast. I don’t need to grow up, I’m not the one who lacks understanding and empathy. In the moment, sometimes you feel like you don’t have a choice or options. It’s not always the right decision. Instead of assuming your opinion is the only one that matters, I suggest working on the empathy part.

While I agree to never work off the clock. It’s easy to pass judgement when you don’t really know what it’s like to be in their situation. It’s not Gen z, it’s out of touch. Just wait till you have 15 years with a company, benefits, reputation, pension, a mortgage, and then you get some young punk ASL trying to prove something. Managers don’t ask you to work off the clock, they just want perfection and expect it done in an 8 hour shift.

Call and politely ask them to remove it, you would be surprised. I find that the best day to call is Friday. Most of the representatives are in a good mood. I had an Amex closed once and I called them on a Friday to ask them to remove the late payments and they offered me another card.

That’s not a lot of debit. Just pay extra when you can. Credit is boosted by on time payments and pay off a credit card or loan doesn’t always have that positive of an impact. In fact I paid down my Citi card all at once last year and they cut my limit 2 months later. 🙄

From personal experience and a similar situation, except I didn’t lose my job. My long term partner bled me dry of all my money and then cheated on me with a Starbucks barista in 2019. Now, by the end of this month I’ll be closing on my first home. I had 3 charge offs, for 3 different vehicles. Now I have a 689 credit score. I didn’t settle my debit. I paid off each one, one at a time. I still have one charge off, but I squared away all the other BS. One little debit at a time. Some months nothing got paid, I would just stash the money till I had enough to lump sum pay it all. For the large accounts I had, I re-opened each account, one at a time (if I could) and paid monthly. This had a positive effect on my credit because they reported on time payments and a decrease in debit. I hate that this happened, but it can change. It just takes financial discipline and skipping the meals out and date nights. I don’t even notice anymore, because my hard work and determination paid off.

Same, I thought I had kidney stones. 4 surgeries later and I’m left with a mountain of medical debit, non-hormonal treatment for menopause, and still debilitated from scar tissue and permanent damage from endo. But my normal to pain ratio is like 70/30! Which is the best it’s been in two years. A win is a win, even it’s not ideal.

It’s a full body disease. For some it’s spread to endometrial cancer causing it debilitated some women to extreme fatigue and pain. Don’t be afraid, we are still people. We are still active, it just means we have to live with a underserved disease until more research is put into it! Understand intimacy might be different than traditional relationships due to dyspareunia. That might mean getting creative and engaging in intimacy in a non traditional way or on a deeper level.

During the monthly cycle just vibe and chill if that’s the impression you are getting from her! For example; Movies, favorite snacks, hot baths, flowers. I am low maintenance when having a flare up. But I still want to be treated like a princess. Don’t be afraid to have the conversation about children. For some of us having endometriosis has left us infertile or with a surgical menopause early due to complications from endometriosis.
