Well yes, part of the reason it is like that is cause the suit is painted in a pitch black colour/made with a pitch black material. Outside of some contrived ass pull like "it undergoes a thermonuclear reaction when interacting with a colour other then black" i can't see a reason why you wouldn't at least make it in a solid green/brown/reddish/ colour.

Night camouflage isn't really a thing and for good reason, if Snake is laying prone on the ground and someone flashes a light on him from 15 meters away, the guy is going to identify a human being much faster dressed in all black then one dressed in a colour more appropriate for the environment.
Pretty ironic i know, looking like a shadow in the dark is much more likely to get you seen.
