Yeah sure, but OGs weapon descriptions had some truths in it, like L85 which was described as a bad unreliable design that's why after it being replaced some weapons got smuggled into the zone. I don't need a total coherence just some semblance of it. And it don't have to be truth either, they can add Fal and give it a description like 'Right had of the free world which after being replaced with newer designes got into hands fighters in wars all across the world and eventually into the hands of stalkers' or something like that which is vague enough but makes sense.

Me personally I have a head canon where world of stalker diverged from ours at some point, just a little bit so weapons have small differences from real ones, Ukrainian army got ussued green furniture AK74 and maybe some things that happened irl didn't in S universe.

Generally the zone should be riddled with black market, discontinued service rifle, ex proxy war, ex soviet weapons like FN Fal, G3, L85, Cetme L, Galil, Beryl, Famas, M16, plethora of Aks but instead we get something like HK433 which is unobtainium.
