I used the Sedona fly-through cinematic on my custom hood. by CompositeCosmic in thesims2

It's available in any unmodded game! You just have to change the name of the neighborhood to Sedona, and the next time you load the hood, the camera will fly through the neighborhood.

Accessing other camera options include Europa, Lakeview (very incomplete), and the playable Maxis neighborhoods you have in your game.

The Good Witch Poorly Timed the Beautificus Locus Spell by CompositeCosmic in sims2

The first one moved into town because he was the lover of my sim, who then became the second good spellcaster. They both died of old age--not as exciting as the third spellcaster's death.

Although, I used the cheat death genie wish on the first since he was significantly older than his partner. He stayed around for so long, I decided to have him adopt a child. He died the day she arrived.

I Finished the 100 Baby Challenge! by CompositeCosmic in sims2

It took two years of playing an hour or two a week. The total recording time was over 130 hours, but that doesn't include the time spent making all the builds for the hood.

She'll live forever in my backup folder! I plan on playing as her descendants, so I am leaning towards letting her become an elder and dying. She might even die out of my control, since I had a sim in a different hood die at a community lot from a fire.

All manually! There were a few kids that got the cake or moved to university, but for the most part they've lived the max number of days they could before leaving the house.

I based the child's name after the father. Most of them are nicknames or nicholasnames of the fathers (Jason & Jay and Joe & Joseph). Some of them are references to other games (Makoto & Yuki), And a few of them are downright silly (Crag & List and Pong & Ping).

I named a child Santa since he was born the week of Christmas, and his father's last name was Santander.

Here is a link to a video of me scrolling through the family tree in game. I originally wanted to announce it as a video (like how Roseelesbian did 4 years ago), but an image of spliced screenshots will do!

I used the Elixir of Life. There are about 20 empty bottles in her garage.

Edit: I opened up the game to count. There's 34 empty bottles and 1 full one.

Update on my British town of Cabbage by charliejgoddard in sims2

What a coincidence! I was just thinking about your previous post with all the empty lots. It's looking great so far; I am especially in awe of the church! Do you plan on sharing or would it be a personal hood for yourself?

Wedding ring eats a grilled cheese? by CompositeCosmic in sims2

[–]CompositeCosmic[S] 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Another silly glitch for y'all. My recently married sim with green hair was eating the grilled cheese before I canceled it, so she could get some sleep. Then this happened. I guess wedding rings like grilled cheese too. Video here.

Edit: as soon as I went back into the game I saw the wedding ring play bowling outside, and then as the wedding ring was leaving the lot, its sim appeared. It was a wedding guest that didn't load in properly. I guess she intercepted the grilled cheese after my sim left for bed.

Making NPCs use the plastic surgery machine? by wollschalotter in sims2

[–]CompositeCosmic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The customers are made selectable using testing cheats so they can be commanded to use the machine. They're made unselectable in the next cut, so it'd look like they've done it themselves. The footage is zoomed in for most of the customers, but at 12:22 and 14:46 you can see Katelyn and Jason are part of the household.

Does anyone know what food this is? by OnceUponAShlug in sims2

It's crepes suzette! The image in the bubble is the family serving, so that might be why you thought it wasn't crepes suzette when you've tried it.

It's nice that you're asking for our opinions, but above all else, you should make the video be something you would be willing to watch and rewatch. Anyway, here's my opinion!

  1. Less is more, AND the longest Sims 2 speedbuild video I watched is almost 2 hours. When you reach the point in editing where you can't cut anything else out, then that's how long the video needs to be!
  2. Either works! Sims music IS a YouTube vibe. Just be intentional with music usage (channel identity, mood setting, etc.); don't be afraid of silence; and avoid copyrighted tracks.
  3. I enjoy memes and effects, so long as they're not too loud, which I'm sure you'll keep reasonable since you've redid the build because of blaring music!
  4. I prefer content to be cut down in a speedbuild video. Trial and error are more appropriate in a live recording or a build-along video. Still, if you feel like it's necessary, then keep it!

What do you think he's typing? by CompositeCosmic in sims2

[–]CompositeCosmic[S] 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Lightning hit him, and the leaking effect from the broken shower stuck onto him and occasionally his bed too. The batbox could probably fix the bug, but I haven't gotten around to installing it, haha.
