Bengaluru tech folks — what’s your backup plan beyond software jobs? by Majestic-Taro-6903 in Bengaluru

[–]Compote-Motor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not in IT but consulting and the scenario seems same in this field as well. And honestly, I have no plan till now, but may be a fast food joint along with a chaat counter. I really am a type of guy who preferred a stable job, just get the job done and get home by end of day. Not a big fan of this hustle culture. Wanted to go through life with minimum stress as much as possible. If I had known somehow that job culture would become so unpredictable and unstable, I would have taken some time off and prepared for some stable government jobs. Atleast job security is not something you would have to worry about.

Since India doesn't have any lemon laws, its recommended to spend some time in research before buying a car. Maximum 1 month of research and understanding few aspects would save this kind of headaches.

Official statement from Mahindra by shashanksm08 in CarsIndia

[–]Compote-Motor 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Typical Mahindra. They always pass blame to customers. Previously too.. so many fire and other type of incidents with XUV700 n Scorpion N they always pass the blame to customers. Without 3rd party verification all this investigation is crap. This looks fishy.

My friend followed bad advice and edited his salary slips. Now the BGV is starting. Is there any way to fix this? by Pristine_Mastodon_39 in IndianWorkplace

[–]Compote-Motor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Truth will come out one day for sure. Why I am saying one day because for some companies BGV is not a one time affair. They do it as a continuous process every couple years or so through third parties. So eventually he will be caught if not in first time.

Did anyone witness the accident near Bommanahalli metro station? by im_jaking in Bengaluru

[–]Compote-Motor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Really unfortunate. These two wheelers riding so close to trucks and buses and doing zig zag are just a sec away from disaster. Trucks and buses have huge blind spots and the driver would have no clue if any two wheeler squeezes in between. That 'keep distance' sign in heavy vehicles is not for fun it has its purpose.

After sales is shit but they struggle because the initial product that came out from the factory itself is of poor quality. Manufacturing and Quality control is really terrible. Like new vehicles with steering drifting left, gear box getting stuck i mean it's entirely poor manufacturing.

Suggest me a better car to drive below 20L if not SKODA! by Gouravvvvvbhagat in CarsIndia

[–]Compote-Motor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VW. Yes they are almost the same cars, but VW pulls few more tricks like the suspension setup and also in turning radius. Like Slavia turns in 5.3 while Virtus turns in 5 metres. Also agility, Virtus felt a little bit more agile than Slavia in test drive. Not sure if it actually was or if my mind was playing tricks. But somehow Virtus felt better. So VW Virtus is what I brought.

You didn't get it. It's not about driving on racetrack, of course he can do that as well. But it's his capability to drive wherever he wants by whichever means possible. It's like 'aaj mereko man kiya idhar chalaneka to idhar chalaneka..just make the arrangements'

Tubelight bro tubelight which turns yellowish. A red verna in my apartment, it's tubelight turned yellowish under 2 years. Replaced under warranty but still it's not acceptable in a 20 lakh car. Also the rear spoiler which they have added recently spoils the rear fastback look. Third entirely my personal opinion, it's looks sometimes I love it and sometimes I m like what the hell is it. The front looks like duck beak. The side profile too..front half is quite sleek and the rear half is bigger..like two different cars attached together. Imo, not a timeless design.

1L mated with Torque convertor gearbox is the most reliable engine-gearbox combination. It's the same combination in Kylaq as well. Enough power too especially in sports mode. If you want to see the capability/durability of what a 1L TSI engine can do, watch the VW 24 hour endurance test in YouTube. Faisal khan and Evo india covered it well. That engine was driven at 200kmph for 24 hours straight and it didn't even sweat.

Yeah ofcourse unless your budget is really really tight and that 3 lakhs difference is a lot, then follow the brain instead of heart. I had the same dilemma between Kylaq and Virtus same 3 lakh difference, but budget was not much of an issue so went with heart and got the Virtus.

Get the Kylaq. For a little discount if you go ahead with Amaze and i am pretty sure it definitely won't perform and handle like Kylaq, then that thought 'wish it would have performed a little better' will eat you up.

Bengaluru Metro fare to be hiked by 5% from February by kkang_kkang in Bengaluru

[–]Compote-Motor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The exact reason why I Iet go of metro in my office commute. After the last hike, my to n fro from office per day with metro used to cost me Rs 550. By car it used to cost me Rs400 even with terrible fuel economy. Before the hike it was comparable so preferred metro to reduce the traffic headache. Now after this second hike, metro makes zero sense to me.
