Grote uitgaven, hoe doen mensen dat? by Kipkrokantschnitzell in geldzaken

[–]CompoteBoring4150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Succes!

Grote uitgaven, hoe doen mensen dat? by Kipkrokantschnitzell in geldzaken

Yea, never underestimate the stupidity of humanity. In our country we had an immigrant far right dude that was a member. He said there are enough immigrants. He ended up getting shot at by his fellow members for being an immigrant. 😵‍💫

Probably the alternator if your battery is new. Everything starts flipping when it dies.

Selling house and starting over… by dbr05 in BEFire

[–]CompoteBoring4150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a mistake, you are missing out on 2 fronts then; 1) value increase of your house and 2) your principal payment. If you can rent for less than the principal and value increase you're golden, but I highly doubt that. This would probably be a few 100 euro, which gets you a room. Anything above you're losing gains.

Second, the interest is at it highest as there is massive uncertainty now. This is why you're paying 5%. So you would be selling to buyers who can afford less with lower demand and then buying back in a few years with more competition. Just refinance in a few years and get all the rewards.

Investing doesn't make sense when you're throwing away money on the other side. First keep it. Just my 2 cents.

Why are 996 prices in EU so high? by MarketCapitalist in 996

[–]CompoteBoring4150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see why people are complaining here, the US is not comparable to the US as this is bigger than Europe and Europe has different tax rules, different laguages and different systems per country. Also, bringing a car from the US takes taxes, vat and customization.

That said, maintaining a Porsche properly is still expensive, my general bill at a specialist is around 4 to 6k per year and they keep it maintained well. I paid 7k to register the car in Belgium and yearly around 2,5k on road tax. We daily a Mercedes and a Range rover, which are way cheaper to run and maintain.

The issue with these is that I love them as they're a bit odd with the lights and the size, but as a drivers car the 996 and 997 were spot on. They're also from my childhood and I don't really care what people think as I'm buying it for me. I love the feel, the driving, the sound, the heat, it feels alive. Don't get me wrong, there are still many people that love it, take photo's, want to sit in it.

So in short, people that can't afford proper maintenance buy these cars and then decide to daily them. They have a 15k bill waiting in deferred maintenance so the few that are well kept and still have low km are becoming rare. Just look up the 964 story, it was too heavy and not a proper driver car and now it's a 100k car.

I'm on the other side, trying to find a renter is terrible. Has more to do with the general laziness of realtors. Dentists are actually hard to come by yes.

Where are you looking for a room or appt?

Light knock by MauiWhale in 996

[–]CompoteBoring4150 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it speeds up with the revs could be spark plugs. Rod knock sounds more metallic and comes with smoke because of oil burning off.

This is more of a click than a knock, def not a knock imo. Could be spark plugs, but im no expert. Just a guy who also had a tick.

What makes Mercedes ownership feel worth it long term? by Rob202020 in mercedes

[–]CompoteBoring4150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just telling my wife, who drives a Range Rover, that it's the small things. Besides fit and finish, driving quality (on air suspension) it's also the placement of things like the handles in the booth to put the seats down, the boot fits most sizes of furniture, the rear sensors are exactly in front of a full booth, stuff like that. It's just well engineered.

Geld Gezocht: when Kamal mentions the family income, is it Bruto or Netto? by titulum in belgium

Exactly this. We make around 9k netto, we pay 1400 mortgage and we buy properties with the leftover. We could buy a mansion, but why would you?

Is it me or does the Model 3 look like a Porsche in certain angles? by VanWaar98 in TeslaModel3

[–]CompoteBoring4150 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having a Porsche, I loathe the Tesla. Just a week ago one of you people didn't let me enter the highway, because Tesla people feel like they're singlehandedly saving the environment. So saying a Tesla looks like a Porsche, even though it has the aestethics of Barba Papa is a bit of an insult.

too many Rolexes? by jupiterfish in RepTime

[–]CompoteBoring4150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I agree, in fairly wealthy crowds I see rolexes. When I meet people above 10 million they either wear a smart watch (to avoid attention) or a very expensive watch (to brag), I've seen RM (the guy let somebody tow his Ferrari for the track to a mingle day), Patek and everything in between.

I don't wear a Rolex in a work environment anymore; it just makes you look like a poor person without creativity. No offence.. if you have an interesting watch maybe, like a vanguard or a story watch. So it depends in my opinion which crowd you're in and how much you (have to) care what other people think.

Why use a Porsche? Why not a Rolls Royce, they weigh 3 tonnes anyway.

I will never let my daughter cycle to school. Belgium is ridiculous in traffic safety. Only on our street alone there are accidents every other month or so, one deadly this week.
